OVERTIME WORKED & PAYMENT DUE!

Hellooo Everyone Here......!

I joined an International Company now 25 months ago...and since then have worked its regular extended enforced working hours...of 9.5 hours (split shift) from saturday thru wednesday and 6 hours on thursdays. A couple of times earlier I did put down my papers as the working hours were too long and the work environment unprofessional, unfriendly and unhealthy.

I have recently put down my papers and the same have been accepted after an argument that they would not pay my entitlements if I don't stay with them thru July 08. I am due for my bonus payment for a period of 18 months now....which they say is at management discretion. Also they want me to pack off ASAP...but I have defied that since I got many things to unwind before I leave.

Please some one thorough with Qatar Labour Law guide and advise what do I do? I expect proporationately a similar bonus payment which I received for the partial period of year 2006. If they don't pay me I want to claim my payment for the Ovetime I worked almost 800 Odd Hours in this working tenure of 25 months.

SPEED said If you have offical documents proving your overtime ...

and same is mentioned in employment contract, then you can take the matter with the Ministry of Labour for not paying you overtime.
Regarding Bonus i don't think so labour dept will be of any help since this is subject to Company discretion.

.....I know it is funny but then it hurts when you are a victim. Yes time and circumstances made me continue and slog ....but then its a pity if I don't get expected professional help / tips from Qatar Living members / visitors...SOS TIPS AWAITED !!

There is two types of Lawyers in the world.

One: The street lawyers, who think they know everything.
QL IS FULL OF THEM!

Two: The street lawyers that are post it in the streets with their logo and names with bright neon signs.
NOT ALL ARE REAL GOOD LAWYERS!

Three: If that don't help, call and hire yourself a lawyer from the classified section of the QTEL Telephone directory.

Other wise pack your bags and go back to that country and hell hole you are coming from.

That will be my professional advise to your problems.
