2. Beauty Cafe (mamoura area)
i wish to go for it .. but dont have enough time at the moment :'(
may be you can learn from them & give me classes later.

Hi Anahmed, Thanks for these ...Hi Anahmed,
Thanks for these tip, Sehati I have see only from the outside...
But I don't know if you have noticed, I am not female... that does not mean
that I am gay or drag or anything else "weird".
It just happened that we talked about local women completetly overdoing
make-up and not having a clue about these topic.
I love to paint so I thought why not understand more about Make-Up and how
to do it properly... then I might also understand why some people are doing it
the way they are... properly or not.
So for Sehati, I was wondering wether it is a female only place ?

thx pj.... these was of ...thx pj....
these was of corse my first reaction - google...
There is lots out there, also on the manufacturers web sites.
But I can not get the hang of it ;-)
I can paint for hours... with all kinds of paints, my hand never becomes unsteady,
but doing make-up is making me crazy after about exactly 5min !
So thats why I thought I need more "hands-on" help, from somebody that
most possibly has had the same experiences before.
But at least I know by now, that it is not as easy as it seams... and that I have to
respect women with good make-up even the more.

well sorry buddy you really cannot go into Sehati.. :-s
and basically NOT many men here are interested in female painting (^_*).. so i guess the only place you can go for is those cosmetic selling places.. where you can see many female guiding you with their own products...
you can simply pop-up a question (like what goes with this kind/color of dress for such an ocassion) and they will be glad to help you out... all the best..

Have you seen any manequins, or wig holders here in Qatar. I read that they come sometimes in the shape of a human head and are great for practicing.
But I could of corse not find such a shop... in the hairdresser supply stores, in the
al Nasser area for example they did now new anything, not even were to get wigs.
Any clue on that one ?
Thx again and again

The sales person is Filippino and I have seen that he served some male Qatari( I assume they were Qatari) clients...they all bought wigs...oh, and the salesperson seems to have knowledge about make up,since he was wearing plenty of it.

If you are at Waquif, at the sheesha cafee with the terrace upstairs, just cross the street and walk past the little white mosque ,you will end up in front of Souk Jabor.

Thanks very much for all the ideas. I went to some of the shops, got some supplies but
realized one crucial thing ! I can not be done !!!
Its not just a matter of the "canvas" and the "paint". Make-Up only works as a whole, beginning with clothing, hair, etc.
And that is just too much for a men to cope with ;-). So I guess I will stick to a piece of paper to sketch around and just keep my eyes open to observe nature.

anahmed, yep got that now... ...anahmed, yep got that now... I never looked at it these way. It seams the female world after all has its nice little features. I still find it fascinating, but unless I make a career or sex change it will forever remain hidden from me.
The men's world looks kind of dull now... a couple of pairs of shoes (maximum), pants, shirts and a decent haircut, thats it !
But dont get me wrong... Its not that I hate myself now :-)
hmmm but the thing with the circles under the eye... that I still might have to check back into :-).

Flayrie..i admire your ...interest regarding women's beauty stuffs.Strange that you're a guy but...I understand there's an artist in you that you want to explore...colours beyond feminity.
Women's taste on make-up are sometimes very complicating. Like, the shoes match w/ the bag, color of the dress compliments the make-up,the hair-do's, etc.
But this is what puzzled me over the years, most of the designers for women's clothings are men, most hairstylist are men and most plastic surgeon are men. Why's that?
Flayrie said
uhh... don't know yet, what ...uhh... don't know yet, what kind of makeup and style do you have in mind ahnamed ?
What about your skin tone, lighter or darker ? I know that both is desired, depending
what ethnic group you belong too :-).
Let me know if your up to the task being a model.. I guess I just would need the technique, which is more easy to learn on a other being then one self.
And the entire idea would be way less questionable if executed on the "proper" sex :-).
Flayrie
Flayrie said
Nicaq25, "colours beyond ...Nicaq25, "colours beyond feminity" that is a really cool phrase !
Well I guess there is less point for a female to become a makeup artist.
If you have to deal with the ordeal of having too, every day it might become
a bit dull ?
The irony of my story is, that I do not like to dress up my self... I "hate" colors on my
clothing... I am happy with black and white... But when ever I do something, like
creative work, it has to be "fitting". Unfortunately I do not see myself as a canvas so much, hence the dullness in my own appearance.
I believe the real reason for men dominating the fashion world is, that men tend to be more obsessive, were women are "just" passionate !?

Ahnamed, watching these ...Ahnamed, watching these things makes me even more crave :-).
I sort of have given up on the thought to master it... I am male and my face looks male,
so all attempts look quiet foolish if you ask me.
Reading and seeing makes wonder, I am fascinated by the possibilities.. and just seeing my own skyn look 10 years younger because of some female skin treatment or concealing product makes me envy your gender :-).
The technology and variety is truly mind blowing. I never thought about it much when I saw my girlfriends utensils floating around the house !
But reading you energetic post makes me want to explore even more.
But as I tried to describe above... a female face is required :-)
Flayrie
anahmed said
hehehee... ...Thats very true .. you can master the art of coloring on a female face in a better way.. because painting on a face thats hard as a rock with daily shaving seems a bit weird...hehehe,,,

But even in the most open relationship, there is not always room for anything...
When time comes and if required I will share things... but for the time being there

Sorry ...Sorry for coming in late but why in heaven's sake would a man want to learn make-up application tricks when he is not gay or a make-up artist or both as in most cases you will see all male dress designers, beauticians, hair stylists, interior decorators are almost always gay. I wonder why? Sometimes I wonder if male chefs and male nurses are gay as well.

But then these is also a big weakness of men, including me. I ruined more then one relationship with my obsession in regards to work, a project is finished when it is finished and not when I am happy.

I will still take a while to get good results these way, since tinkering with the computer takes more time then the actual paper makeup session.
