Health insurance / healthcare
By MappoTrell on Fri, 16/05/2008 - 4:58pm
Greetings to all QLers.
I'm considering a move to Qatar, and want to do a bit of homework on living conditions there. Can you tell me about the healthcare system there? I know that some basic services, such as emergency help, are provided for free as long as you're a resident.
But what about dental, optical, etc?
What about other, more involved medical procedures?
I'm from Australia, and in additon to standard Medicare, I have a private health cover. So if I want a similar level of medical servicing in Qatar, what are my options?
That's just to get started :), but appreciate any informed and meaningful advice.
Cheers.

hey mate ...Me too. No medicare here. Get urself a local hospital card. you get free gp appointments, subsidised dental, prescription drugs at 70% off.
dont bother the recent private health cover offerings. aint as good as medibank or hfc.
I am interested in knowing more. What job are you doing? IT/ Management or engineering? from sydney, melb or perth
