Who lives in a country like this?
Hi,
I am considering a post in Qatar and I thought I'd ask the community about themselves.
I would describe myself as sociable, creative and intelligent. I like martial arts and going to the gym. i like a little tipple, but not too much and obviously love travel and culture. I have lived all over the world and I am a single female.
What kind of people live here?

what do you mean by "love culture"? if you mean theatres, concerts, exhibitions, shows, etc. it is a huge lack of it in here.. and that's what i miss...

visas ...One of the things you may not be aware of is that when you live here, you need an exit permit to get out. Even if you just fancy a weekend in Dubai, taking no leave whatsoever, your employer needs to give permission.
Also, if you have friends from SE Asia, those people will find it almost impossible to get visas to visit you here.

For sure, one can find all sorts, all over, but there are ex pat cultures within a country (like Charisma men in Japan)This is why I ask. It's not meant to hurt anyone's delicate feelings, of raise anyone's blood pressure to the point where their head blows off.
So I am gratefull to everyone who is able to give a little insight from their point of view.

Hmmm, most people have large heads, 2 noses and 3 eyes...you know...the famous Wollygoggs....endangered species and all that....they like to hunt at night, mostly virgin damsels...they come in packs of 4, the amount that can be easily squeezed in their transporters...ah well, just come over and see!
