english cafe
have any off u been to great english cafe,they do fantastic fish and chips,home made steak pie,liver and onions and mash, great english breakfast,my mouth is watering,lol lots other stuff also.BIG portions,give it try u wount be diserpointed.its FANTASTIC,

You Mean the Sandwich Cellar ...Is it the British rest. near past Sana, the lady that started it used to sell sandwiches to our company, but she passed away and her daughter runs the shop its good food. Her sandwiches were really funky mixes but really tasty.

it is call Sandwich Cellar. ...it is call Sandwich Cellar. It used to be good. But the quality of the food now going down hill really bad.
We took my brother in law who came to Doha from off shore few mths back. He ordered steak and kidney pie ... the gravy come out cold ... When i asked to warm it up ... the filipina waitress look at me like i asked a weird requests.
The food came out dry ... it is like you left food outside without covering it up properly whole day. Dont think it is fresh either. Took less than 10 minutes to serve all the order.
Banger and mash wasnt very nice either ... mash came out cold ... dont think they make it fresh ... it seems it is just come out from a pan and they did not warm it up properly.
Not bother going back there again ...
I rather goes to Garvey's for English food.

agreed novita ...we went to the sandwich cellar last year and had a breakfast which was fantastic but went back recently and I ordered curry, it came very watery and cold too. My mother in law ordered steak n kidney pie, when it arrived the pastry was an inch thick and the steak and kidney was cold

good food ...well all i can say is the times we have been,we were pleased with the food, give it a try, if u dont like dont go again,i would not recomend if i thought not good

Alive and Kicking ...dweller - it's Julia's mother Jackie who passed away 5 years back. Julia still very much alive and still running the restaurant

I had actually checked with my daughter and got the facts.
I knew Jackie well and was aware that she had passed away some years ago. She worked for Shell when they had a larger presence in qatar.

English Cafe ...Have to agree the standard of food and service at the english cafe has gone down.
