Qatar to display cooling system to FIFA

Juat read the article link below in todays Gulf Times. Very interesting reading for everyone following football and in particular Qatar's 2022 WC bid. From what I read in the article this cooling system is NOT even been invented yet, they have a prototype in different component form which they plan to trial/showcase to Fifa on a 5 aside field in Sept. Well a 5 aside field is a darn side smaller than a full sized 50,000 plus seater stadia. And we don't even know yet wether the tech for the 5 aside trial will work. Everything is all good and well in theory, but this would be a huge gamble on Fifas part to award Qatar the 2022 bid on the back of the tech MIGHT be available then. Hats off to Qatar for bidding, but seriously at this point of time you are out of your league Qatar....maybe 30 years down the track you will have the infrastructure and tech to host....

lol, how come this didn't get edited out? Someone's going to end up losing their job.

Dreamzzzzzzzz ...For me offcourse qatar is nice and pleasant country to live in no doubt about it, but the rules here are friendly for local sponsor not for the expatriates like for example 2 years ban (non sense) even in saudi there is no ban for some nationals now. the immigration rules should be flexible for anyone both local and expatriates. qatar is still 30 years away from hosting major events. just by doing vast construction like dubai, qatar is only following in footsteps of dubai. Stop dreamingggggggg.

Will Qatar provide cooled ...Will Qatar provide cooled streets and squares for the fans to party, dance and have their beers, in and out the games?
Who would like to come to 40+ C humid and dusty summer with dry law and discrimination against gender, civil status, race and social status, with poor infrastructures and very little entertainment to offer?
Sounds appealing?
I don’t think so.
Asian Games was the worse public event that I attended. Massive chaos, no indications, poor accesses, no entertainment, no restaurants and bars in the venues, no atmosphere. You call that success? I call it propaganda.
I was here, I saw how badly organized and dull it was!
PS. World Cup is usually organized in 8 or more major cities, to distribute the millions of fans!
Go Qatar and build these major cities with infrastructures by 2022… ah one more thing, don’t forget to finish the buildings in their inside and also, if not asking too much, don’t forget to occupy them with residents!

I don't know what is this ...I don't know what is this FIFA all about. How do they select their venues. What is this game?
Sorry I am an Indian so ignorant about the whole thing :-/

The Asian Games couldn't even ...The Asian Games couldn't even cope with a few days of rains. Road and carparks were flooded, some venues were inaccessible from the rain, water leaked into the venues, it was a disgrace.
And now we are told to believe that a country that struggles with a few inches of rain is going to develop high tech solutions for air conditioning massive open air stadiums for 50,000 people?
Dream on.

I am interested in seeing ...I am interested in seeing what would happen should Qatar host the WC, unlike with local media, if it is disastrous they won't be able to cover it up and all the money they spent to promote Qatar will have gone to waste.
Over here in the UK I'm seeing loads of fans drunk, couples kissing, etc, and it reminded me of that story of that teen who stopped the cop from performing his duties and arresting that couple kissing. Whether one agrees with it or not is not really the issue, my concern is the clash of the cultures will come head on if Qatar wins the bid. This could be a good thing and result in more changes either prior to the WC in order to keep Qatar 'in tune' with what's acceptable abroad, or changes during the event itself.
As for quality of the WC in Qatar I honestly don't know what they have in mind ,but if the current state of organizing events in Qatar is a reliable indicator of what to expect, then their will be some major problems for everyone involved, fans and Qatar alike.

WK.. ...Simple. FIFA is the governing body, led by Sepp Blatter and his clique who worry more about politics and their own image than football. So, I wouldn't be surprised if FIFA awarded award the tournament to Qatar.

I hope they do award it to ...I hope they do award it to Qatar, if the WC is what's going to trigger change at the expense of a quality WC somewhere else, then so be it, lol.
