Disputing a traffic fine!
Hey all
I just saw on line that I have received a fine for "loading a vehicle in a way that causes danger to people or property" in a rental car that I was driving for a few months.
It seems to asy the offence happened at Sports City so I am thinking Villagio? It is for QAR 700 and I want to try and dispute the fine.
My only thoughts can be it was when I stopped at the drop off at Villagio to get my wife and kids (5 yrs and 2 yrs) + old father in law + shopping in to the car but still think if this is the reason it is a buit harsh.
Anyone know where I can go to "plead" my case - not that I am expecting anything to come from it.
Interested to here any similar stories and outcomes!!

That's actually overspeeding ...That's actually overspeeding violation. Sometimes they set up mobile radar van at roadside where no speed camera is installed

check the arabic site ...if you have any arabic friends, check the MOI Site in arabic, it clearly explains what your fine is for ... in english it gives some weird answers.. hope it helps

Also I thought the highest speeding fine you can get is QAR 500 before you have to go to jail? very confusing?

nOP ...Violation is "loading" so meaning you stop somewhere else for your family, maybe an officer behind you and he just report your vehicle number and that's it! Be careful next time.

that's waht pverspeeding ...that's waht pverspeeding means in the website, it really is weird. go to traffic dept in madinat khalifa and settle your problem there

The Problem is that... ...The Problem is that when you get caught by the camera, The cops don't know which car is speeding or doing something illegal. So they give all the people the tickets since they don't know. I rented a car and got 8 tickets. I was like wtf. I don't speed in the city limits (unless on highways where I go up 210kph) but don't park illegally. Then why did I get the tickets? So I found out from the officer that they don"t actually know who's speeding from a camera so they just give out at to everyone in the pic.

That type message is normally ...That type message is normally showing for overspeeding. You are caught by radar and you can go and see the proof from muroor Khalifa Town. It has nothing to do with dropping your kids and father-in-law. If you were not overspeeding someone else was doing it and you were also caught in the camera. It is better to and get it checked.

The fine is for overspeeding. ...The fine is for overspeeding. If you suspect you did not pass by that place at the given time then you need to go the traffic police station and ask them for proof . They will provide you with the photograph for which you have to pay QR 50/- .

speeding ...your violation is speeding, got the same violation but its not loading. its going beyond the set speed limit.

The fine starts at 500 ...then additional 100 is added on for each 10 KM over the speed limit. The camera catches the license plate # of the car. If you sincerely believe you do not deserve the ticket, you would go to the Madinat Khalifa traffic division office and ask to see photo evidence that it was your car that tripped the camera. Several of my friends have done this and the photo came back not of their car--ticket was dismissed. So there is hope. However be prepared to be there for 3 hours. Only you know if this is worth your time.
