Borrow a Muslim?
Borrow a Muslim? A 'living library' to prick stereotypes
London - It works like a conventional library. Tables and chairs are set out for study. Librarians bustle purposefully, staffing the checkout desk.
Except these aren't books on loan. They're people.
Welcome to the Living Library. Here, you borrow individuals who represent stereotypes that often are the target of prejudice or hatred.

Breaking down barriers ...I guess you could say it works.
40 years ago in America and now look at the candidate for the Democrats for president in 2008.

Its a great idea ...Its a great idea actually....although i wonder what happens when people dont like what they hear...In a normal librabry you just put the book on the shelve, what will happen here, you just walk away from the " living book" or worse what happens if arguments occur..
The point about the most people needing this dialogue are probably the ones that wont use it, hence will it change people attitudes?
Overall though i think its a great idea, if people learnt to communicate and listen to both sides of the story, theres more likely to be tolerance and acceptance of other peoples lives, cultures and beliefs.

Critical mass ...It all comes down to the critical mass. There are usually about 1/3 on each end of every idea and its the third in the middle that makes the difference. I think their after the 'fence sitters' here.
