Fine for being in Qatar before...!!!!!
Guys,
I am in a situation, something I have not come across or heard from anyone before...
I had been in qatar earlier and left the country on September 2007...I returned back to qatar this year after the 2 year ban period...Now while going through my visa formalities, I was called for re-fingerprinting...my company has thrown me a bomb saying I need to pay Qrs. 5000 riyals as fine to the immigration, since I had been in qatar earlier and since my fingerprint is already in the database.
Is this true..as anyone faced something like this..I mean how can a employee be fined just because he was in the same country earlier.
Somebody please help me....

There is no fine for coming ...There is no fine for coming back and re-finger printing. However, there is a possibility that you left the country in 2007 with some unpaid dues against you...e.g traffic or municipality fines etc.

actually i think there is ...actually i think there is something comes after 15th of May as i got my visa thing done normally but now one guy visa was on hold and he is asked to go and clear everything for the tenure he was in qatar earlier and then he would get visa. may be there is a change in some proces or procedure
i think you need to check with some authenticated govt. body

Nope ...There is no such fine.I also turned up again to Qatar. only finger prints has to be done again. did u canceled ur RP earlier.

1. yes..i did cancel my RP when i left qatar...
2. i did not have any unpaid dues with any banks...infact i got an al clear certificate from the bank before i left..no traffic or municipality dues either...
infact i am the 3rd guy in my company who is asked to pay 5000Qrs. the said amount was deducted from the salary of 2 guys earlier...
even in case i had any dues, how is that the amount i am asked to pay is 5000Qrs, which is the exact same amount as the other 2 poor guys who had the same problem..
the reason the PRO is giving is since my fingerprint is already in the database and that has to be cleared and the ministry charges 5000 Qrs for erasing it...
anyone who can help me....
