No you don't. The only matter is the residence visa, and since you have it already, you can just go and apply for jobs freely.

and it seems to be quite a process.

You need police clearance from your home country and a letter from your spouse. This goes to Labour Depertment and they issue a work permit.

If my mandoob has informed me correctly, both you and your spouse have to appear in person at the Labour Department.

Usually.Major companies and government organizations ask for labor permit and CID clearance. Small companies do not ask for such a procedure. SO it is the employer who should worry about the headache not you.

I was trying to process my labour permit last week. I was told that i need to have my NBI clearance in my Embassy after i had it translated.(by the way, i'm Filipina). We paid 100QR frm the phil embassy then we were told we need to go to chamber of commerce so i asked my husband to go there instead. paying QR 50 then to Foreign Affairs with another 50QR.We thought we almost made it but to our dismay we were just told that we need to do the same thing with our diploma.

i dont know how true. anyone, can comment on this?
