My family and I are leaving on holiday in two weeks time, we had planned to leave our kitten with a friend but due to unforeseen circumstances they will not be able to take her.
My parents have said that if we do not find someone take her in for the summer she will have to be left outside on her own as we cannot afford to pay for a shelter. I don't think she can survive on her own as she is only a year old and has a slight injury on her right paw. Could you please help us find a home for her ? She is a very friendly kitten, litter trained , neutered and vaccinated. We'll be more than willing to provide food, litter and anything else she might need.

QAWS is gearing up for another very hot summer, and is in dire need of help acquiring some items. If anyone can donate any of these items to QAWS, you will win the the forever appreciation of all the animals, volunteers and staff!!

Fridge - 2nd hand is fine also
Large shade Canopy
Clothes Drying racks (or if anyone has those heavy duty metal T bar ones, we do a LOT of heavy blankets and towels!)

chairs - outdoor kind
bath towels

Missing DOG

My friend's cute dog have gone missing for 3 days now.

We tried looking for him around the neighborhood but no one seemed to have seen him.

Here's the details:

Dog Name: ROWAN

Breed: Jack Russell Terrier

Color: White and brown (Small dog)

Age: 3 years old

Date Lost: Apr 11, 2008 around 6-7pm

Area: Umm Salma St. Al Matar Qadeem

hi all i would want to give five puppies of mine a good home at a nominal rate. they are all pure breed pom spitz. please give me a call if anyone interested on 5023139, the pups are unfortunately not stayin wit me now cause my compound owner Alemadi suddenly decided no pets. and we were harrased till i sent away my pups and dogs to another place. but i can brng the pups to show anyone genuinely interested. I could email some more of the pics to anyone interested.

Since i am 8 months pregnant i may take some time to bring the puppies to all who wud want to see them.

I also wud like to inform that i would need some personal information to all who would be homing the puppies, this is just so that i can kep in touch and know that the pupies are safe and ot deserted.

Snapples, a small, black & white, female, Jack Russell (Mix) has managed to escape from home tonight!

She is wearing a collar with her name and contact telephone numbers.

Snapples is now roaming the Abu Hamour Area - close to the Cambridge School.

Please keep your eyes peeled and call if you see her.

Sadly she is very shy of strangers and may not come to you - even a sighting of her will help!

Animal Welfare

Hello,

I have written previously on this issue.

Approximately one year ago I visited a private animal zoo about one hour outside of Doha. The person who had this property, I cannot find his business card, sells exotic animals to wealthy people in the middle east, but also keeps many animals in his zoo for visitors which is open the the public.

There is only one like this in Qatar, so I'm hoping anyone reading this will know of the place.

Unfortunately some of the animals such as a fox, wolf, cat & dog are kept in very small cages with hardly any room to move. This sort of treatment has haunted me since I visited the place (these little animals are truly miserable) and I would love to be able to hellp them.

If anyone has any idea what can be done please let me know. I've tried finding out if there is some sort of animal welfare organization in Qatar but could find nothing.

In the meantime I'll try and find his business card and the exact name of the place and it's location.

Any help or advice is much appreciated.

Extra Pairs of Hands Please.......

A plea (yes, another one) from Qatar Pets & QAWS.....

Maybe we were naive, maybe we didn't look into the future.........Maybe we did and we carried on regardless!! As you are all aware from the constant barrage of requests we put on here that we often put out a plea to you guys!

This one is for extra pairs of hands, not money, not goods, just your TIME.

The shelter is bursting at the seams, the requests to take in more animals are coming daily - each call is as important as the next, each case is as heart wrenching as the next, we are coping to the best of our abilities BUT we really need some extra help.

The animals in our care are given shelter, food, a comfortable place to sleep, walks, cuddles, medical attention, baths, toe nail clips, brushes, their laundry is done daily, their kennels are cleaned daily, their every need is tended too......that is our commitment to those unfortunate animals that find themselves in need of Qatar Pets & QAWS.

We do our best BUT....isn't there always a BUT?

We need people to help, an hour dog walking, half an hour cat cuddling, 10 minutes grooming a donkey, it ALL adds up.

We have a 'core' group of volunteers covering most shifts daily now so there is always someone to guide you and assist you.......

Bring horses To Qatar

Hi
I am really looking for as much information as possible.
To cut a very long story short my husband and I and my 6 year old son are coming out to Doha hopefully next month this will be our 4 visit to my husbands family there and every time we have been we just love it so this time while we are there my husband will be looking for a job and we are hoping to be moving there for good in the very near future. I have two horses that I really cannot leave behind as I want them to come and live in the sunshine with me.It is going to be a very costly and I should imagine stressful but I am willing to put them through it if I know they will have an excellent life there.
My two horses are
My 24 year old part bred Arab gelding who I have owned for the last 18 years, he is an excellent allrounder but very highly strung and needs a very experienced rider but he really enjoys being in work he hates the cold weather so I am sure he would be more than happing with the drastic change in temp to what he is used to.
My second horse is my 3 year old Palomino part bred Arab stallion, I have owned him since he was 5 months old and have had a very succesful in-hand showing career together over the last few years and we used him last year for stud work and he proved to be very popular I will be starting to back him so we will then find what sphere we will be taking for the future.
Ok here I go with my questions.
I have looked into the transportation side of things which really seem pretty straight forward but are rather expensive we are looking at around 32000.00Qr per horse but that does include there 7 day quarenteen in Doha.
Is there a choice of livery yards there and what is the quality of service of different yards?
Is full livery available which as every thing included Ie: feed, forage,mucking out, turning out and groom?
Would the yards be willing to accept a stallion(a very very well behaved one)?
What would a rough price per month per horse cost?
What quality of service to farriers offer?
Are equestrian supplies easily available?
Can horses be ridden on the sand dunes?
Can you ride anywhere or are you restricted?
Are there any shows for the breed of horses that I have?
How much for a set of shoes?
So sorry I will stop here but these are just a few of the questions that I have as I really want to find out if what I am looking at doing with my horses is realistic.

cat bowls & collar's. We have just brought our 2 cats from the UK and we new bowls for food and water. We have been to the big supermarkets and a local vets in Muaither but can find no cat bowls.
Can anyone please advise a place to buy them?
