Adulterous wife jailed in Doha

A BAHRAIN woman married to a Qatari policeman has been jailed for a year in a Doha prison for having an extramarital affair.
The 31-year-old was arrested after her husband pretended to leave the country and followed her as she went to meet her lover.
The traffic policeman had suspected that his wife was having an affair and told her he was going to Dubai for a few days, according to a report in the Doha-based Gulf Times.
He then switched off his mobile phone and, aided by colleagues, watched his wife meet a local man in a car on March 7.
They then followed them to an address in the capital's Old Ghanim area and got inside a house.
The report said the "irate" policeman was granted immediate permission from the Public Prosecution to enter the home.
Police officers rushed in and found his wife in the bedroom and arrested a 30-year-old Qatari man.
The policeman's wife, who the report said was from Bahrain, denied committing an indecent act.
She claimed she had only needed to use the toilet during a meeting to discuss a job opportunity. However, an unnamed court found her guilty.
Her lover had denied that any physical contact had taken place between the pair, but was also jailed for a year.
The court also ordered the woman be deported, although she has appealed against the decision.
Meanwhile, an air passenger from Bahrain has been arrested in Kuwait after being caught with three kilograms of heroine allegedly concealed in a book.
Sources said customs officials become suspicious of the Asian's movements when he approached the arrival gate at Kuwait International Airport on Monday.
The man was stopped and after a thorough search of his property, the drug was found hidden in the book, according to a report in Kuwait's Arab Times.
The suspect was handed over to police for investigation.

I have and it drives me nuts...I just don't understand how they could be accused of adultery when they can't prove it..its like saying someone is fishing illegally just because they are in a boat with a fishing rod....they have the equipment and the opportunity,but they weren't useing it...gues i'm just a very firm believer in innocent until proven guilty.

In this case woman had the intention of commiting adultury....The guy could have waited a bit longer till they come out of the house and taken her for a medical test to clear his doubt.

Dubai is purely commercial.. Lots and lots of malls and things to do..Bahrain is quiter and more peaceful.

I know why they got the ...I know why they got the light sentence. I just don't believe in sentencing at all for adultery. Personally I think she shouldn't get a penny in the divorce and gets kicked out on her hiney. Punishment enough I say.

Great story from Saudi.. ...This is a true story..
An expat guy was attracted to a local lady who used to regularly "beg" in a shopping area.
One day, he managed to snare her and got her number. he called her and she finally agreed to meet him at her flat.
the guy went off, had a shave, shower, bought new cologne and new shirt/trousers to impress her.
Got to the flat. went in and he was accosted by her "husband" and another man.
They beat him up. Took his money, watch, phone and kicked him out.
he couldn't go to the police.
Lesson learned.
