Magandang Araw Po....

I was not able to be on site for the past few days due to my hectic schedule....but i must confess...bigla na lang po ako nagonline kase during the time na nagpapadala ako ng pera para sa pinas, ni-inform ako ng kabayan na ang remittances daw eh binabawasan na sa atin at 15% ang kaltas...naisip ko na magonline agad at humanap ng tread tungkol dito kaso wala akong nakita (o baka malabo na lang ang mata ko) =) naku eh sa totoo lang...nakakasama kaya ng loob na mabawasan ng ganun ganun na lang ang perang pinadadala sa pinas lalo pa na kung ang pag gamit ng gobyerno natin sa pondo natin eh sa di maipaliwanag na pag-gastos. isa pa, kawawa naman ang pamilya natin na andun na nagaantay ng maliit nating suporta eh nababawasan pa... sa totoo lang, ni hindi ko nadinig na may plano palang lagyan ng tax ang remittance...well knowing the fact na tuwing magbabakasyon tayo eh nagbabayad tau sa POEA eh ano nanaman kaya ang pumasok sa mga kukoteng basag ng mga nasa gobyernong eto at umaatake nanamang parang holdaper!!! pasensya na po...i don't wanna be rude kaso talagang nakakapikon naman itong walang saysay na pagbabawas ng tax sa remittances na kung tutuusin, yun na nga lang ang kapalit ng sakripisyong ginagawa natin dito eh nanakawin pa ng mga bwakang mader na yan!!!hay naku po....anyway...Gandang Araw Po Sa Lahat...

there's no such thing... ...spanky, there's no such thing as "15%" cut. maybe your info source is misinformed. banks or any other financial houses do not impose such huge cuts on remittances except for minimal charges or recovering foreign exchange rate loss.
pointless na rin mag himutok sa gobyerno pilipinas. that's the burden you have to bear unless of course you decide to change your country of residence meaning mag migrate ka. at pag nasa ibang bansa ka naman, taxes din na naman ang sasalubong sayo pero at least, bumabalik sa tao ang taxes na binayad nila kagaya ng sa america.

you're right... ...actually the tread i prepared was based on the feedbacks i heard from our kabayans...i only conceptualized it as me...america has a bigger tax deduction but it was never been a burden to their countrymen because all the service they need was provided to them.To think that despite of sept11 incident eh nakabangon sila...satin,kunting calamity, malaking issue kase sa totoo lang, pinagkakaperahan nila ang pangyayari instead na tumulong...Now in terms of 15%..,aware din po ako dun...actually 30centavos/200 pesos lang po ang deduction sa ilang western union kaso sa info na nirerelay ng ibang kabayan na nasa padalahan, 15% ang declaration nila...and uuuh...marami talagang magrereact pag ganyang mali ang info...

alecs is correct it is not ...alecs is correct it is not 15%, but the banks do really charge a small percentage due to exchange rates losses.

alecscotland, sang ayon ako sau ...na sa ibang bansa din ay mas malaki pa ang taxes kaya nga lang bumabalik sa mga taxpayers ang kanilang binabayad. May nakikita at napapakinabangan ka.
Nga pla, i saw the site that you were referring to...
alecscotland, can i ask your opinion about this - CIVIL WAR thing? Thanks

Bank charges ...Some exchange centers here charge QR 15 for money remittance and the corresponding bank will again charge roughly QR.13 (this is just an estimate)but a certain exchange center in the souq area only charge the remmitance fee, so whatever the amount appering in the remittance slip is exactly the amount received by their dependents. Also,(just an advice) avoid using the e-remittance service by some banks here in Qatar kasi eventhough they charge only QR10 per transaction, the corresponding bank will impose some charges which will not appear in your online statements unless otherwise you need to visit the bank personally to know what were the charges (this is my personal experience).

hi fiery.... ...i know that it was not me whom you're asking regarding civil war...pero wag naman sana sa ganung paraan lalo pa na may mga bata at kababaihan satin na walang kakayahang ipagtangol ang sarili...at tyak na pag nagkanun ang tema satin, iba ang level compare to other civil wars history...iba na kase mentality ng kabataan sa atin ngayon at masyado na silang agressive...and many of our political personalities have a mind of a greedy demons who will do everything just to take the power and fame...maraming masasaktan talaga...

spanky... ...I think your sources were mis-informed... I think they are referring to the DST (documentary stamp tax) which many OFW groups were asking the government not to impose. Congress was formulating a DST of 0.15% (not 15%) back in April. I am not sure if this was really imposed to date.
Check this news clip last April:
http://www.gmanews.t...
Also, banks do charge bank-to-bank service charges (or call it by another name like FX adjustment, etc).
For example, Gulf Exchange remittance partner in the Philippines is EPCIB/Banco De Oro.
So if your beneficiary has an account in this bank and you pay the 15QR service charge here, they will get the exact amount you remit.
But if they have the account on another bank, their bank will charge service fee for bank-to-bank (ex. EPCIB to Security Bank) transaction even if you have paid the 15QR service charge here.

there is however a silent civil war that is happening in the philippines... masyado nang diversified ang paniniwala ng pinoy. sa religion lang napakarami di ba? sa politics ganun din... maski nga sa pag hanga sa artista halos nag aaway ang mga pinoy. the truth is, its hard to find true unity in the philippines lahat kanya kanya dog eat dog... if you closely observe the social orientation of many filipinos, wala na halos compassion ang tao sa isat isa.. & that's scarier than any civil war...
