Standard Chartered Bank Qatar - a BIG NO NO..
I've been disappointed by Standard Chartered Bank for several times. The worst disappointment was when my ATM CARD rejected by cashier when I want to buy something. It happened twice in a month. I had sufficient balance but the "message" appeared on the slip is DECLINED. I was so humiliated.
I've never used to carry lots of cash in my purse since ATM card can be used as method of payment. At the first rejection, call center agent told me that their system was down. Luckily I had just enough money to pay. On the second rejection, the call center agent advice me to keep on trying, she said she experienced same thing and succeed on the third attempt, whatta??
I have no idea what should i do about this bank since my salary is transferred there and it is mandatory to have an account there. Am I the only one who experience this??

ATM card has been declined ...ATM card has been declined NOT because of the Bank issue! because the machines in the stores are not properly working! It has JUST happened with me in Dubai.. They tried two machines, it didn't work.. finally the third one accepted my credit card.. it was very embarrassed, but the shift manager apologized and said, this is the machine's issue.. has nothing to do with your card or your bank..

Then I have to cal them and prove it's me...
Pisses me off...but what can you do???

take care when u get a ...take care when u get a DECLINED card in the shops, i was declined twice while trying to pay for a computer only to find out later that it had been take both thimes from my account!!! always look it up!!! took me 6 months to get the money back!

U can have ur salary ...U can have ur salary transferred to any bank you want.

i don't know vegas, but ...i don't know vegas, but after two idle attempts, they finally got it through...on the other machine..and the manager said, it's a machine's problem...ah, noone can never know what's going there, even themselves are not sure what and why...lol

I use a CBQ ATM card through ...I use a CBQ ATM card through out the Midle East with no problem

It is my company policy to ...It is my company policy to have the salary transfered there. One of the reason for my company to have the account there is becuz "INTERNATIONAL" bank.
If it's the machine problem, why when I use my husband ATM card, QNB, it worked out fine. On the third attempt I tried to use my ATM again, in the same machine, with less amount. It worked. One of annoying thing came from the cashier, saying "O.. it works because the amount is less"...???

Yellow cab said it won't work then I pay cash then I see it ...on my statement??? Still havn't got my money back...
So yes no yellow cab for me anymore...
