Anyone can be a Brit for £200
LONDON (agencies)
Illegal immigrants will be offered the chance to pay just £200 for the right to become British citizens if a bizarre Lib Dem policy is made law.
The country’s half-a-million illegals should be allowed to sign up for an “enrolment period” according to a party think-tank.
The scheme could mean that anyone who manages to stay in Britain undetected for three months could pay £200 to enroll, followed by five £1,000 installments over the following five years.
Once they have completed their enrolment, which includes getting a job, paying taxes and learning English, they would be given permission to live here permanently.
The Lib Dems claim the scheme would help the Government weed out dangerous illegals who are planning terror attacks.
But critics have condemned the proposal as mad, saying it would open the door for millions more immigrants to seek a new life in an overcrowded Britain. Sir Andrew Green, chairman of Migrationwatch, said: “Nothing could be more calculated to encourage still more illegal immigration.”
The policy, drawn up by Lib Dem think-tank Centre Forum, suggested anyone who failed the enrolment after five years should be kicked out within the following six months. Co-author Will Somer-ville said: “The policy we set out would increase security, prosperity and social cohesion.”
But Immigration Minister Liam Byrne said: “This proposal is truly preposterous. We will never reward illegal immigrants with an amnesty, never mind an amnesty for sale.”

I disagree that Britain is full.... it is predominantly empty... The problem is that people tend to congregate around the major cities for obvious reasons....
Why not build 5 new "Milton Keynes" up in Cumbria? Force new immigrants to move there... I mean all the UK gov't is concerned about is collecting their 'cut' from any and every body....

I worked in a immigration and asylum law firm in london for 3 years and if you heard some of the cases.. u would be shocked! i dont think all should be allowed in but there really are some genuine asylum seekers who have been tortured, raped imprisoned and really do fear for there lives..
Sorry i kinda feel strongly on this subject... alot of people dont know there stories :(
