Calling fellow gamers (PS3, 360 questions)
Hello all,
Just looking for a bit of advice.
I'm moving to Qatar from the UK in a few weeks time, now the question I have is what region games do you guys get out there?
Am I going to be struggling to buy games that will play on a euro PS3 or 360?
Should I sell mine and buy a console from Qatar?
The one thing I do not want is to bring over a console that I can't buy games for!

The PS3 is region free for ...The PS3 is region free for games. Some Blueray movies are regional so if you watch those you might have a problem. All games bought any where work on PS3. I use a US PS3 here.
I don't know anything about the XBOX. :)

Xbox360 uses NTSC disks. But ...Xbox360 uses NTSC disks. But all movie disks work on it.

NTSC vs. PAL ...Hello.. my nieces have a PS3 NTSC version back in the Phils. iwant to buy some games for them but the problem is i'm not sure if the PAL games will work on it and there is not much of NTSC version games here in Doha if ever there is one, the price is higher than PAL, Please help.

incubot.... ...I believe like the 360, 1st party PS3 games are region free (i.e. PAL or NTSC, doesn't matter), the problem is that some 3rd party games are NOT region free and therefore will not work.
Righty, PAL PS3 games are common in Doha, so I'll get a PAL console...are the consoles sold in Qatar also PAL?
As for the 360, are the games sold in Doha mostly PAL or NTSC?

... ...mostly games sold here are PAL ver because QATAR is in REgion 2 (PAL/Secam) if there is NTSC its minimal and high priced, there is some store that sell PAL version of the consoles and there are also NTSC as i've said more PAL than NTSC

I have seen... ...PAL and NTSC PS3's for sale here (at Virgin and shops in Hyatt and Landmark), for only a little less than in the UK.
Same with the games, seen them from all regions.
All seem to work so far with the PAL PS3 we brought.
For Call of Duty I had to buy a european game to play the same servers as friends in the UK (US one played but was different servers).

over 120 countries uses the terrestrial PAL (Phase Alternating Line) system...
and one good news is that...
UK and QATAR uses similar coding system...
so you dont need to worry to dispose a console and buying new ones upon your arrival... whatever disc u can feed from here will work the same similar to the disk you're feeding from UK...

Ps3 ...is it really working??? PAL games will work on NTSC consoles?? i don't wanna try because i don't have that money to buy games (PAL ver) for my NTSC it's too risky but i'll try i'll give it a shot.. Thanks
