Shatter Abbas in Salwa Road - Poor Service!

I read Novita's post about Mrs. Vanelli's - and this reminded me of an incident which happened two weeks ago.

My mom, my friend and I met for lunch at Shatter Abbas in Salwa Road.

When my mom's food came, she found out that the chicken was not fully cooked so she sent it back to the kitchen. 10 minutes later, they gave it back to her but there was still something wrong the the taste (i tried it and i can still taste the raw juices coming from the chicken). My mom then decided to send the chicken back and told the waiter to cancel the order.

My friend joined us a few minutes later. When she got her chicken - same story.

We spoke to the supervisor and he was very apologetic. However, the waitress was very rude. She showed her displeasure by making faces at us. We explained to her that we are not raising a fuss just because we felt like. We even asked her to taste the chicken herself so she knows that it wasn't cooked that well.

When we got the bill, lo and behold we were charged for the two chickens which we returned and refused to eat. My mom called the attention of another supervisor. He was quite rude and said that there was nothing wrong with the chicken and we should not shirk from paying the bill. My mom then asked for the manager. We were quite surprised when the guy said "I AM the manager!"

We then decided to call the supervisor whom we spoke to earlier. The guy was very accommodating and very apologetic. He told the cashier to revise the bill and we only paid for what we actually consumed (the side salads for the chicken) and the bread.

We explained to the supervisor that often ate at Shatter Abbas in the City Centre and the quality of the chicken is very different from what was served in their restaurant in Salwa Road.

Needless to say that we won't go back to this restaurant again.

I am just wondering whether the manager and the waitress would have treated us much nicer if we were non-Asians. But kudos to the supervisor - he acted professionally and he was very polite - unlike the guy who claims to be the manager of the place.

So fellow QLers, there are a lot of restaurants here in Doha. Everytime we are treated rudely just pass the message along. Let's teach these guys a lesson.
