Can we extremely customized our car in Qatar??

seto's picture

Dear all..

I'm Seto from Indonesia. I'm new in Doha and I would like to extremely customized my car just like my car in Indonesia. I really dont know about vehicle regulation here in Qatar, can anybody help me with these..?

I would like to buy a 1999 Honda Civic. I wanna make it fender oversized so a 19"/20" rims can fit and then lowered with a super low customs suspension kit till left only 20mm from the surface and some of the rims are 'sink' inside the fender (just like the picture attached). I also wanna paint my car with a holographic paint which can be different looking when we see it in daytime and nite. And for finishing I want to instal a racing exhaust with a sporty sound..

- Can Qatar road regulation allow that kind of customizing?

- Should I report to the road police before I do the customizing and repaint?

- Is there any paperwork cost for reporting a customized car and repaint car to the road police? For how much averagely? As we will change the previous color written in the registration..

- Where can I found a workshop who can do a customizing and painting?

- For how much it cost for painting and suspension fitting in Doha averagely?

- How much it cost for a taiwanese 19" or 20" rims with tyre in Doha? where can I buy?

Thank you so much for your kindly attention..

- 19" to 20"? No problem with the police, but where will you get the rims? i dont think there's available here in Doha.

- Lowering, No problem also, only the speedhumps that are designed for "Land Cruisers".

- Holographic paint, you have to get a permit for 10 riyals only.

- Racing exhaust, depends of the sound. If it is too loud the police will catch you or if the muff is too big, sometimes it will not pass on technical inspection.

- Any major changes (body paint and etc), you need permit before changing it.

- You have to pay around Qr.100/- for police paper works

- Go to Industrial Area where you can find a lot of painting shop.

- For body painting will cost Qr.3000/-

- For suspension fitting will cost Qr.300/-

- for 19" and 20" rims will cost around Qr.7000 and up including tyres. You can find those shop at wakra, salwa, and etc.

i know a filipino car club who can help you. www.gorgatz.org

Good Luck!
