Online Shopping Shipping
Upon qatari's request here are a few tips for shipping your online shopping.
Do not use Qatar Post if you can help it, it will take forever to arrive.
I use the Aramex Shop&Ship - Mailbox Service http://www.aramex.co...
They charge $8 for the first 1/2 kilo and $5 for every 1/2 kilo after that. If you're ordering flash memory it's not cost effective but anything with some weight is worth the expense; time is money and I'm willing to pay the money to save time.
Shipments are received in Doha an average of 3 days after arriving at the US mailbox and 2 days after arriving at the UK mailbox.
So how do you decide which mailbox to ship to? When I ordered the Plasma Ball http://www.qatarlivi... I knew it was coming from Hong Kong. While Hong Kong returned to Chinese sovereignty over 10 years ago now I chose to have it shipped to my UK mailbox because the HK postal service was honed by the British and that fast track still works.
Other times the tax is a factor; If I'm buying a UK-based item then it will be taxed if it's shipping within the UK. I compare the shipping cost to the US mailbox with the tax I'll pay if it ships to my UK mailbox.
The US mailbox is based in NY so any item shipping from New York to NY will be taxed. Same procedure as above.
Shipments from Europe go to the UK address, shipments from Japan go to the US address.
I'll update if I think of anything else. Your input is welcome.

MaveriCk ...You cant use someones mailbox/PO box unless that person also orders and pays for the item you want. Only the named box holder can use the service - if an item arrives at the PO box witout a name or a different name it will NOT be shipped out.

I've been shopping online ...I've been shopping online for 8+ years now and have never been the victim of fraud.
Shop from a reputable merchant, make sure the payment page is encrypted (begins with https in the address bar and a lock icon appears at the bottom right of the browser) and if you're worried you can get an internet credit card from any bank with a specific limit.
Among the sites that I've bought from are Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Lands End, Macys, Nordstrom, LL Bean, and art galleries as well as several eBay sellers.

My gitar arrived in Doha 4 days after it arrived at my Mailbox in New York.Now I have got another Guitar (for my son backin Malaysia) that arrived in my Mailbox yesterday. I am expecting it to arrive in Doha by this coming Thursday.
Rates is good. This package is 15 lbs and my shipping cost is QTR440. Very much cheaper than courier service. Only thing is that you have to collect your package from theoir office.No home delivery as yet.

I personally use www.myus.com cuz i get to choose how the package would be shipped to me .. and i've picked FedEx. but what about the site provided above " u shop we ship" do they deliver to homes or they work as aramex and u should pick up ur package from them or are they located at the US and they ship to ur chosen address?

My first order using Aramex has shipped from Amazon, but that's as far as it's got so far.

you must pick up your packages at their office. Near Decoration round-a-bout. They also have a new branch in Landmark mall, only for shipping, not for picking up.
You can track your shipments over the internet. Last time I got an e-mail stating it arrived in NY.
They send you a text when your shipment arrives in Qatar and telling you of the fees. I haven't figured out yet how to determine what those fees are ahead of time.

UK/US address is so you can ...UK/US address is so you can buy things from companies that won't ship to PO Boxes. Aramex gives you an actual street address in the US and UK (depending on where you are buying your item from) and then you pick it up at Aramex in Doha.

When I DHL's personal items ...When I DHL's personal items to Qatar from Bahrain, where i was talked into air freighting it instead of road as it would supposadly be "easier" and i'd paid everything.
My boss had to pay a fair bit to collect them in Qatar, ill go check how much i was charged and try to post back.

i lived in malaysia n ive ...i lived in malaysia n ive send a package weight around 1.4kgs using ABXpress in malaysia to Doha..but they send it to ARAMEX and its only takes like 3 days to arrived and its a lot cheapier than DHL and UPS..1.4kgs = RM198.00..well,not bad compared to DHL 1kg = RM 300+...

garnet06ph... its best to ...garnet06ph... its best to stop by their office near the qatar decoration r/a. There's an initial fee of QR 132-150 ( its a lifetime fee) and they provide you with US and UK mailboxes. Thats pretty much all there is to it. Next time you ordering something online ship it to either of the 2 addresses and the item should reach you in about 5 days from my experience. Charges from the US is 70 riyals/ KG. Hope that helps.
