Professionals are headding towards UAE?
It may be wrong, but I experienced personnaly on this subject.Qualified professionals headding towards UAE. the reason is cost of living in Qatar now matched with cost of living at UAE prime cities. Few of my friends left within the span of 2-3 months and they confirmed that the hike in their package is more than 50%.My concern is that is it a temporary hike to attract people. What you people are thinking? We will get benefitted in long term stay in Doha as you know the living cost are burning like anything.

Most expatriates go where ...Most expatriates go where the money takes them.. If Dubai is offering higher packages and a better life style, then the shift will occur.

I'd sooner zoom down Messaid Road ...than sit on Sheik Zayed for an hour every day.
Money is the prime mover, but quality of life comes into the equation too.

baldrick you are right.. ...baldrick you are right. As an expact prime need is money without compormising the quality of living and life.
But there these too are on high, Quality life with more money to spend.

I would say quality of life and the money you earn ...both plays a major role. In Qatar, there is no place for a qualified IT professional , so the moment I got an oppurtunity, I am definitely planning to make a move. Also the life style standard is way ahead than what it is here.

Me also plan to go Dubai ...I also plan to move to UAE by January because of low salary. I got good offers from Qatar itself, but the notorious law of SPONSORHSIP is a hurdle to stay me here. Many employees from our company already left for Dubai for the same reason. But at the same time, many people are coming to Doha too from other G.C.C countries because of the same reasons above.

it wouldn't make sense since ...it wouldn't make sense since the average salary is the same as Qatar and UAE's cost of living is higher.
It's funny though because there are articles that say that alot of professionals are leaving UAE.

welllllllll ...i am in a transfering mode! from Dubai to Doha. after 4 days stay in Doha i think i am making a big mistake, i have missed every place in Dubai, i started hating Doha since i am looking for a flat here! not nice well finshed buildings and higher rentals in Compare with nice building in Dubai marina or....
i must be more thinkfull about what i am going to! my offer here is higher than Dubai, but i hated the life style here! i got depressed in only 4 days...

relax D, it's because you ...relax D, it's because you haven't settled in. If you're not happy you should go back. Seriously, everybody has a place that they can be happy in.
You should have visited Qatar for a week and tested the waters.

I can understand D. The only ...I can understand D. The only reason people say Doha is cheaper is 'cuz there's Nothing here that isn't better in Dubai so you end up staying home more. The crappy flats in Doha for the price are definitely worse here than in Dubai.
