CNN is a joke....
Why is it that 2 stories I see on the international edition of CNN are no where to be found on the front page of the US edition??
The story of USAF missle watchers sleeping on the job and Putin blaming the US for orchestrating the Georgian war are no where to be found on CNN US edition.
What a bunch of friggin tools CNN are...

It seems that CNN caters for two different audiences.. In the US, it is probably the most widely watched cable network.. So, it feeds the public news which is palatable to them..
The International version competes with a lot more channels like BBC and Al Jazeerah, so it carries a different flavour of news..
One thing that surprised me when working in the States is that most dailies do not carry major foreign news items. Also, the ordinary person is not interested in news outside his state , let alone the country..

Dweller... ...My personal opinion is that since the Vietnam War, the American government has tried to shield the public and also "ensure" that news cahnnels (Papers, TV) are more nationalistic and less condrontational..
A good example is the ban on showing the arrival of coffins of the deceased American soldiers..
