back home (Philippines), if you have at least one in your backyard, you are blessed.

It's because from the it's leaves down to it's roots, the coconut tree has its uses.

leaves - can be used as the wisk (spellcheck) broom
fruit - edible
coconut husk - for ember, cleaning/scrubbing floors
the shell - for charcoal
the trunk - for wood
the roots - to make soap and medicinal purposes too...

Coconut tree can be an inspiration. It takes time for it to grow tall, takes time to bear fruit. And during typhoons, it sways to the strong winds but never breaks easily and always firm rooted in the ground....humbling, isn't it...

Sorry if I'm out of the topic...just reminiscing...that's all ;-)
