Ethiopean, Philipino or Malaysian maids?
I often get told by friends and other what nationality is better to hire for a maid. I myself think its not nationality but the individual person itself. Now that I am thinking of sponsering a maid, I just wanted to know of experiences that you had with your maids???

ethiopian are known to run ...ethiopian are known to run away whenever they get a chance and then work by hour on there own,filipina just becareful of there sexual relationship even on the top of the building, they have good hygiene on themselves but not necessarily clean the house well,please no one get offended,i am talking based on my experience and my friends,but all people have good and bad persons,indians are very loyal and can stay with you for decades even but thay need to be told to shower sometime.my advise is to get from a reputable agency and be sure that if on the trial period the helper was found not to be efficient that you could return her,because many agencies tells you that you have a trial period for 3 months but thaty try as much as they can not to fulfill this ,please do not take any helper from the agency named nabi3 al khalij they fooled me and my friend in a very bad way,take from a good agency

I have a filipina, 46 years old. Albiet she is a bit crazy sometimes (she laughs hysterically in awkward situations) she is pretty good and very hygenic. Also it depends on what you are looking for... a maid... cook... nanny. An agency will help you out with this as all their stats are listed on their CV's along with pictures.
Best maid I ever had was Sri Lankan, she was a great worker and excellent with the kids and a great friend. I miss her terribly even though she has been gone for 4 years.

Maids ...In 5 years I have had 2 maids. Both Filipino. Both hard workers. One stole from me, one is very honest. My neighbors have had Sri Lankan and Ethiopian maids. Also some bad and some wonderful. Nationality does not matter. There are good and bad people from every place and every country. Each individual is different.

Malaysia not providing maid ...As far as I am concern Malaysia has not provided Maids in Middle East and even in their home country. They in fact import their maids from several countries around Asia Pacific Region.
I guess you better get an Arab - Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt ,etc which can also cook Arab dishes and speak your language. At least you do not have to get your head spin in communicating with them.
FYI, I have one Indonesian maid in my home. She is beautiful, diligent, tiday and neat and very responsible but in general they do not like to work for any non-asian house.

Many Things SHould be Considered ...When Looking for a maid you need to consider a lot of things irregardless of what country she comes from. First is the language barrier. It would be difficult if your maid does not understand even the simplest of instructions. Filipino maids can speak and understand English, as it is their second language. Second if you have kids it is important that you look for a maid that obviously has a natural rapport with children. Then there is the hygiene part. Filipinos are known all over the world to be really hygienic. There is also the character of the person. I have a maid back home that has been with us for more than ten years. I trust her with money, with anything valuable in the house, and most importantly, I trust her that even without my presence she considers my kid like her own. So, you need to seek a maid through an agency or from someone you know and you should specify all the requirements that you need and expect from a housemate.
Also, if you treat a housemaid well, she will also return to you the favor in three-folds.

I had a Sri Lankan in Oman and she as the best, Filipino was too lazy and want time off with boy friend too much (Could never trust her in the house alone, When I was in Malaysia living I had a Indian lady for 2 years,, she was great with the kids,, never a worry...
