A Absolute BIgger No No

A Absolute Bigger No No
Al Jazzera Academy it's started again...!
After 5 years working in the above academy I can officially say I think I have seen it all....When I arrived in 2006, I really was not sure what to expect it was my first time of living & working overseas. After a few stressful weeks it soon become apparent that it was going to be completely different in every way to anything I had ever experienced in my whole working life. On the whole the first year was not too bad, but it changed dramatically for the worse when a new management company were brought in two months into the second year. They made bad decisions, treated many staff badly which lead to the biggest staff turnover at the end of the year ever recorded in AJA. This lead to a difficult decision for me should I come back at the beginning of the following year and start a new 2 year contract or should I look for another position. I made the decison to come aback and if things had not improved I was going to leave in the December and not return. I arrived back to FANTASTIC news the old management company were out and an new management company were in along with a new Director, I cannot tell you how much the working environment changed for the better. AJA became a happier place to work and it seemed that the bad decision making was a thing of the past, and finally we had people who cared about it's staff and wanted to make AJA a nicer place to work. 2010 was a great year, don't get me wrong sometimes we all get things wrong and make mistakes but I believe if any mistakes that were made were not made to upset any members of staff or to make anyone's life miserable as in the past. Full steam ahead we started to look toward the next academic year 2011, we had a much smaller staff turnover and we filled those positions with a great new staff intake who arrived like a breath of fresh air and endless amounts of energy. The new staff arrived in September 2010, they were great we had a fantastic 3 week induction and it looked like things could only keep on getting better. HOW WRONG can you be, before the end of the month the management company made the WORST ever decision, they were going to drop the IB Diploma program in AJA, without any consultations with students, staff or parents, as you can imagine the news was devastating for everyone many of the new and old staff only choose to come to AJA as it ran the IB Diploma, trust me it really was not for the salaries..! And so began the worst year in the time I had been here. So much of what had been put right has now been undone, the trust that was gained in staff once again is destroyed, staff are being lied to benefits that were in contracts when we first started were removed in new contracts. AJA in not a International school no matter what you are told, every day sees more bad decisions on an hourly basis. You will here Arabic spoken instead of English in many classrooms, corridors, and offices. I was personally told 2 years ago that I would not get anymore pay rises as I had reached the top of the salary scale, only to find out that the person who was appointed to take my position came in on a higher salary, and I was expected to train them, where is the justice in that, wrong is so many ways. If I had not already planned to leave this year I certainly would not be returning. So if you can cope with the constant indecisive decision making, constant lack of communication, mismanagement, and being lied too that occurs on a daily basis go for it. For me this year BLESS THEM ALL…!!!!

From what I have understood ...From what I have understood of the post is that the management (the current one) are as bad as the older one. Am I right?
The scenario that you have pointed out here - about the new staf whom you have to train getting more pay than you - is something that is very prevalent here in many companies. Even the so called BIG NAMES in the industry have such a sorry attitude when it comes to their staff.
As we say in India - "Naam Bade Darshan Khote!"

I hav heard it before ...The management of Al JAzeera academy is not doing its best in handling the curriculum issues and the over all system of the school is also not so good ....the above thread seems true as I hav heard it before from one of my close friend, her kids were there for about 2 years but she moved them to another school now due to all this crap.
