its illegal here as ...its illegal here as AbuAmerican says and if u want to learn drift..well not all here do the real drift..its mostly burnout , skidding , donuts and done by Vehicles like Nissan Pickup (Arrawi) , landcrusier , Safari etc.

Good ... So u got a perfect ...Good ... So u got a perfect car to drift ,,, coz thats a rear wheel drive car, I can give you some tips on drifting ... but since its not allowed in Qatar so please find a better place to do it...

Things to do before you ...Things to do before you begin drifting...

1. Set up a cone in the middle of the lot. Drive up on the cone and rip the handbrake in an attempt to do a 180. Practice this until you are no more, and no less than 180 degrees from when you started.

2. Learn how to countersteer by ripping the handbrake from a speed of 10-20mph and trying to control the car to a destination until the car stops.

3. Increase speed of each of these things until you are comfortable.

4. try to do the 180 cone turn but instead of stopping, hit the gas hard and power out and away from the cone.
Start practicing this first and let me know when you are confident enough about this...

casanova ...Qatar Automobiles Group is idle these days..ur knowledge on automobiles is impressive..would be gr8 if u join the group and make it interesting.
Evo is a gr8 car like supra , skyline etc. but having fun with Arrawi is interesting too..good for performing burnouts and donuts.

Abu a 4 wheel drive car is ...Abu a 4 wheel drive car is not better than a rear wheel for drifting but ya its way better than a front wheel, while you have a differential running all the four hubs, you wont get enough power to drift the car coz you need your front wheels free while drifting, there is a big difference between twisting with a four wheel drive and drifting....

I disagree but then I have ...I disagree but then I have never tried to drift in a 4 wheel drive. Fact is the evo series make huge power and with 4 wheel drive you can use over and under steer to your advantage.

porsche road show .. ...i was in a porsche cayenne turbo at the losail international circuit and the instructor drifted around the track. it was too awesome to describe.
how he did it? a lot of training is all i can say.
good luck and make sure you dont do it in a deserted place all alone, jic something goes wrong.

A lot of people were drifting in the parking near Dana club... we encountered it one evening, my son thought it was cool. We got dinner and entertainment.

I got the great displeasure ...I got the great displeasure of seeing some youth trying to drift in some old Toyota flat bed truck. I had to get the kids to take cover behind a street lamp so he would hit it and not us.
Freak, he was totally outta control and doing it all wrong and at the wrong place and time of day.

If you are going to drift, please don't do it where any people are present...
and let the hospital know in advance so they'll know where to send the ambulance.

I will never understand the ...I will never understand the culture of dangerous driving in Qatar.
I'm a petrol head, I love driving fast, I love taking corners on the perfect line and hearing the noise of a big V6 or V8 as you accelerate out, my last two cars have been roadsters that handle like a dream, but cost a damn fortune to maintain, but it's worth it.......but having said that I will not do these things on a public road; there is no excuse for putting yourself and the public in danger when you have an international circuit just outside Doha that allows you to burn rubber to your hearts desire in a safe environment (unless you're cut up in a corner), at least that way if you misjudge a corner, you are stopped by a sand trap, not a steel barrier or another car.
Let's not forget that the roads over here are hardly well build, even the new dukhan road has some horrible bumps in it that could cause you to loose control if you hit them at high speed...just look at the number of wrecked cars on the side of the road.
Find out when the next open day at the track is and get your rush there, and see some exotic cars do their thing while you're there.

I wish to Open a Drift ...I wish to Open a Drift school in your area but not not sure on rules and regulations on what i have to do to get a permit.
It will be Great Fun, it will be Great Cars but most of all it will be safe.
