A memorable night at Intercon's Al Waha Tent
For all of you in Doha who are either looking for something new to experience or just wanting to try something different rather than the “usual”, I hope sharing this experience can inspire.
My wife and I were invited to the Al Waha tent at the Intercontinental Hotel. We have lived in Doha for four years and have heard about these tents, but had never tried one out first-hand, but let me tell you, our experience this evening will definitely be something to write home about...
As soon as we walked into the Arabian decorated tent or “khaimah” adorned with rich eastern décor, we were greeted with fantastic views of the sea and friendly wait staff wearing traditional Arab garb.

The menu was absolutely phenomenal. Now, not being a particular salad fan, I must say the Intercon, created a whole new meaning to the word “salad”. There were lentils/grains, all of the traditional Arabic spreads (i.e. hummos/labneh) and then some, traditional salads, in additional to so much more. The main buffet had soups, excellent mixed grill (I would probably rate it as the most flavorful I’ve tasted here), seafood, falafel made in front of you, along with fresh bread, and this is just to name a few of the buffet’s main items. And of course the 2 dessert stalls, 1 for Arabic goodies and the other for Western.

My 2 and half year old son was with us and he really enjoyed himself, thank God, he ate some of the little Arabic appetizers (samosas, koubeeh, sauted cauliflower) and bopped to the live Arabic music being played. The staff was very child-friendly and he basked in all of their attention.
The atmosphere was exquisite. It was such a delightful experience, the ambience of the tent along with melodic Arabic beats being played in the background, accompanied by the traditional Arabic foods, really made this one of the most unique experiences I have had in Qatar. I felt the Intercontinental was successful in displaying the true nature of Arabian hospitality and really gives all people the opportunity to experience the festivities of Ramadan.
When one goes to the Al Waha tent, do expect more than just a meal, but a true Middle Eastern experience.

All RAMADAN tents in Doha ...All RAMADAN tents in Doha are over priced. I'm in dubai now, average price per person in the madinat jumeirah tent is 165Dhs and that's including shesha. Without even comparing , you can imagine that Tents in dubai have better ambiance, food , sheesha & most importantly service

i went there this ramadan ...i went there this ramadan and all was ok, but sth i didn't like in there was decoration.
last year they've managed to dress the tent in a nice way, with stars and moons hanging from the top.
and this year, well...no offense to anyone, but have u noticed what is hanging down on u when u were there?
it was supposed to look like those soapy bubbles and instead some of them looked like ...emm, sth that would be good for safe sex day, not "ramadan kareem" message.
i didn't feel offended, rather amused actually. apart from that, everything was nice.
If you're looking for a problem, you're probably gonna find one.
