Any Filipino Dance Clubs in Doha?
Any Filipino Dance clubs in Doha? I've been dancing since I was a kid and I used it as a sport towards growing up. It's a good body exercise as well as the mind as it brings out your creativity. Dances like hip-hop, pop, ballroom and folk dances may do. It's also a good way to socialize and meet new people having the same interest, it would be great weekend meeting members of the club if there are any here. If there is anyone interested in organizing, please reply to this post and we will see how we can put this up. Everybody is welcome... not only Filipinos. Cheers!

Dance Group ...Hi, nagtry lang akong iopen ang site ng Qatar Living and naisip ko lang din check ang mga group dito sa Qatar and i saw this page, actually, we have a Dance Group called "Kool Fuzion Dancers" & "Doha Dance Crew". Kool Fuzion we dance Jazz, techno, Hiphop, etc. and yung sa Doha Dance Crew is more on Hip hop. and every week kahit walang gig we go out kahit san at kung san mapagtripan pumunta. pwede sigurong bumuo tayo ng ...pwede sigurong bumuo tayo ng bagong dance group for Filexpat. we have lots of members to ask their help in case we need space, in case we need support, etc.
since every month mayroong get-together ang Filexpat Group, that can be our first appearance siguro and soon we can find places and events na pwede na tayong mag-guesting, sumali sa contest, or pwede ring bayaran na ang services natin na we can call paid past time.
anybody agree here? you can count me in... coz i used to dance before. after i've worked and get chubby, hininto ko na dahil im not that confident anymore, but still i can dance gracefully.... modern jazz is my specialty!

hello dhaize, ssup? like what she said, we have here kool fuzion, doha dance crew, we have the b n b dancers, we got the pearl village dancer from ras lafan and i think also a group called st. 49 fromindustrial area is still around
of course the HEATWAVE DANCERS is always here, im one of the founding members of this group and anyone is invited to joins us
btw, there will be "kantahan sa doha" and elimination will be on 31 oct at hytatt mall, for sure there will be intermissions there, you can have a visit and meet these dancers, how i wish next year they will have also "sayawan sa doha" hehehehehe

Even in City Centre during Ramadan they had those Turkish dancers with the red hats going round and round..

Tanoora Dance ...no boss the dance you are referring to is egyptian tanoora dance held in City Centre its also a sort of sufi dance. The turkish dance is called swirling sufi dance inspired by the sufi doctrine of Moulana Rumi.
Those darwishs are also using red hats called Rumi Cap.

Some thing like that ...My pleasure UkEngQatar, its a debatable question, in sub continent you will see sufi playing dhol (a sort of drums) at the shrines of sufies and people dancing around them but that type is not called dancing out of respect. You can google pappu sain for reference on internet its beat will mesmerize you to dance with it.
But existance of sufism itelf is a big debate but to answer your quesion dancing with music is forbidden as general however its allowed on special occassions such as marriages with small drums called daph in ladies only gathering.
Dancing or singing as a profession is totally forbidden.

jazz, mix jazz & hiphop & modern jazz is my specialty.
anyhow, i've witnessed there are lot of dancers in Filexpat Group. try to attend one gathering so u could meet them. or, better invite and create a thread for this, set a date when to meet all interested dancers... then show it to us one Feb's Valentine's Event as this will be your first appearance. later on we will look for big event so we could cater your talents as your extra. i know some so come on... form your group guys/gals!
