Ban The Poor

LetienVN's picture

I find that base on Family days, Qatari authorities ban foreign bachelors to come to shopping centrers and public places. But actually the ban is only applied on the Poor People, not all foreign bachelors. On Eid days, at the City Center, I found that all Arabian, European, American, Chinese people were allowed to come inside, no care of single or couple. But the poor people come from the poor countries such as India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Srilanka, the Philippines, Vietnam were not allowed to come inside. At the entrance, there was a disable man standing and shouting the poor people who were waiting until 10pm to come inside as permission. The disable man sometimes pushed on necks of some people and shouted them to keep away from the entrance!!!

We the poor workers come to your Qatar from the poor countries to build up and clean your nice country. Without the poor workers, how can you do your hard and dirty work? Do you think that the poor workers are too dirty and disgusting to come to your beautiful places?

What is the difference between the European, American, Chinese people and the people come from other countries as Nepal, Srilanka, India? The poor are animal, and the rich are human beings?????...

[mod note: this has been discussed at length recently in another post]

Letien, I notice the same thing, too. But what can we do as expatriates in this country, but only to obey. I am sure they have their legitimate reasons to ban some and not some. Your thread makes me remember of what I had read before in a book but don't exactly remember the words. It was about praising the architects and engineers and those great minds of the greatest buildings of the world. But nobody took even a single notice about the workers who toiled under the sun only to accomplish what is in the great design. Well, that is a fact of life.
