Guidance

Hey all,
Lived in Qatar for over 10 years when I was younger, and have been applying for jobs for over 3 months now to try and move back there once again...not even a thanks but no thanks letter or call from any that I have applied for! Is this normal practice?
I have a degree in BA Hons Business/Marketing and over 7 years business experience in various fields, including a business start up in the UK.
Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated...I have even tried to contact old friends in Doha without any success...
I realise that often it is who you know and not what you know.....
Thanks all...

Yes, don't be discouraged, ...Yes, don't be discouraged, these things always take way longer than you would ever think. Go to as many sources as you can find - internet job sites, businesses, universities in Qatar (who are always looking to hire), friends. Come for a visit and see if you can set up some interviews. Try and try again, follow your dream. It may take some time but it will happen.

Thanks! ...Hi guys,
Thanks for your advice. I will keep trying, but seems that it may be extremely hard to find a job in Qatar whilst still living in the UK?
I will keep trying though..never give up...

Its far easier if you know ...Its far easier if you know someone here. That's what happened to me, I didn't even apply for the job.. Just got an SMS one day and I said ..."sure".
Knowing someone makes a world of difference.

Your right.... ...I would very much like to even receive a thanks but no thanks...
Anybody out there interested in getting my CV? I thought that having lived in Qatar for over 10 years, this might be a help to me as I knew more about the life, culture etc.
Any help much appreciated..any contacts..indeed anything..
Thanks
