Italian cuisine
When I first introduced myself to the group, I promised never talk about spaghetti or pizza, to avoid the stereotype (I'm italian, and I love spaghetti!!), but maybe...risotto? Is anybody interested on how to prepare a real good italian risotto? Of course we have to cancell all recepies that require wine (lots)or special ingredients (porcini mushrooms,trufles, pork salami or ham ,sausages, regional cheese...)so not much left, I can still suggest:
- risotto with shrimps, courgettes & saffron
- risotto gorgonzola cheese (in alternative roquefort or blue cheese), leeks and parmigiano
If not risotto, chiken breast milanese with sicilian "caponata"
..or for pasta lovers,Bucatini or maybe Fusilli "a la Norma"?
This could be my first contribution,I wait with my apron on, ciao

My speciality....... Panna Cotta. but it's hard to find the sheets of gelatin here. :(

anciullo ...Hey you wouldn't happen to be that waiter I met in La Spaghetto's? You sure sound like him! Speaking of, for those of you who are desperately longing for quality Italian cuisine should give the restaurant a try. Their Pizzas are simply divine! Avoid going there between 3.30-6 pm as they wil be closed. Theyre located behind Royal Plaza at where A&W used to be.

OK charmed ...Italian cooking is not so difficult :I know also middle Estern, indian,chinese,european and ,although I can make japanese tempura, never able to prepare sushi.
But of course I do italian (piemontese and sicilian in particular)

You sure? ...I love aubergines,but I dont know of risotto with aubergine, because becomes creamy once you cook it for risotto..still we can try, nouvelle cuisine? With aubergine I love the classic Parmigiana!

Anciullo ...I brought some back with me from italy....gelatin I mean. :) The biggest problem is finding the time to prepare the panna cotta. With my husband so busy lately it's kind of pointless preparing a feast. :)
Sushi?.............I used to make it. It's actually not that difficult. Well sashimi is simple simple. Sushi is just time consuming, but it's easy. The hardest part is getting the freshest fish possible; so a trip to the fish market with an ice box is imperative in this weather. :)

Anybody agree to me, "CIAO" located in Salwa, just beside Marie Claires.
I will not say much about it, just find out yourself why, but i would say, i love their food...Ciao!
