Best Credit Card in Doha
I would like to apply for a credit card that gives me Points when i spend and not just a simple card that does not get me anything in return for using it...
Which card would you recommend gives the most reward for using the card and which card should i stay away from??
(PS I understand that i would either need to shift my salary to the bank or put a deposit of some sort...)

QNB credit card ...I recommend QNB credit card, you earn Qmiles whenever you use it and so you can redeem awards in Qatarairways privilege club. you can also use the airport lounges.

Doha Bank ...I've heard good reviews of Doha Bank CC. I have a platinium CC from CBQ. I used to earn miles with QA but they stopped the same from last year. They still charge me QAR 500 . Customer service tell me to enrol in some wafa points but both the website and contact number of wafa do not work if i wish to enrol.
Awesome. QAR 500 bucks for a useless silver card - sorry platinium.

IBQ may be ...consider IBQ as they use to give 5% cash back on all purchases online lulu card which give 5% only on purchases from LULU... IBQ was a limited period cash back so not sure if still valid.

IBQ is offering only 2% cash ...IBQ is offering only 2% cash back on all purchases at the moment. It is nothing compare to 5% they were offering last year. But, something is better than nothing.
There is no other benefit like air miles or airport lounge access etc.
It is free though.

Masheq experience ...I had two indirect experiences with Mashreq bank and credit card through my friend, and it was an very unpleasant one. realized it yet another hidden cost driven bank.

QNB World Card ...Go for the QNB First World card. You receive 1 mile for every QR5 spent and get free travel insurance, extended purchases insurance and access to lounges, including Gold at Doha Airport.

I dont think you will get a credit card now without transferring salary to Mashreq Bank. They were giving the cards earlier without Salary transfers but now the Central Bank has instructed all the Banks to link the Credit Cards to Salary. They were giving Airport Oryx lounge for Gold card members till the end of 2011 but stopped it and that facility is available only for Platinum Card members.

Have a platinum card from CBQ ...Have a platinum card from CBQ and it works well. They have a points system but I have no clue how to use it as the custom support points to the website and the website is outdated like anything.
The good thing is that a lot of places have 0% interest rate offer for CBQ cards so you can buy and pay in 6 months with 0% interest.

I guess Dream card of doha bank is best ...I already have one from IBQ and other from Doha bank.
IBQ is now offering only 1% cash back while u have to pay 200QR yearly charge. their 1% doesn't count for government like kahramaa bill/immigration/ Qtel bills etc.
Doha dream is life time free and 1.25% cash back on any payment on ur online ticket/ kahramaa/ Qtel/ shopping whatsoever...

Best Credit Card in Doha ...Don't go for LULU credit card because doha bank charges QR300 during card cancellation and there is no option for 100% bill amount deduction from account (max is 5%). Also your blocked fund remain with bank for 45 days after canellation request is made as a security which are released later... :(

Go for QNB platinum ...QNB Master/Visa platinum gives you access to lounge, qmiles to redeem and Nojoom points for Qtel.
The only problem is for their Master Card it works without entering PIN (the old signature verification style) when purchasing items at retails... this might reduce security a bit but not a big deal tho. Their Visa uses the smart chip (pin code).
Other than that, QNB is good.

according to my experience, ( ...according to my experience, ( i use QNB Platinum and Mashreq) these are the best credit cards i came across in Qatar (they are not perfect but good when you compare with others ) . QNB platinum, you get 1 Qmiles when you spend 8QR in your credit card. you could accumulate this point and get a flight ticket for the same when you have enough points. (I normally make one 2 way ticket to India every year ;) which is fantastic I believe) and the good thing about this card that there is no annual fee for it.
I use mashreq card for taking cash loan (it’s called "Easy Cash") against the credit in your card ( you could get 75% of total credit as cash loan and you pay flexible monthly payment till 2 year duration. there is only .55% interest monthly which is good compare to the personal loans from other banks)
