The Winner of the 3rd Qatar Living Photoshoot competition

LotusGem's picture

I expected this to be easy because there weren't as many participants as in the 2nd photoshoot, but it was a tough decision.

The best photo in that shoot in my opinion is "Tick Tock" by Kalifa_007.

Congrats for winning.

You can see all the entries here

ps: I would've elaboratd more, but I am doing this over the internet connection in the airport which stops working spontaneously every 3 seconds.

So sorry to have missed the shoot! This is a great picture, and some of the other pictures are amazing too.
Goodluck to everyone in the next shoot! (I'll definitely keep watching the results, even though I won't be in Qatar anymore)

I'm really left speechless. Thanks for all the great comments as it means a lot ... i guess walking around in 100% humidity in a suit was well worth it ;)

I have not had the pleasure to meet anybody in this group, but hopefully I'll get the chance in the next shoot. So again, thanks everybody and thanks LotusGem for administrating the event.

Hi,

Good shots khalifa!

Can someone guide me how deliberate blurring is done? like in the picutre by Lotusgem

thanks

Zubair

LotusGem's picture

LotusGem said Deapth of field ...

The trick is to open the aperture as much as possible. (Thats the f number should be as small as possible).

The picture you are talking about was taken with an aperture of f1.8

Not many lenses/cameras can go as low as that.

thanks LotusGem

i'v made a note of that tip and will try it whenever i can get hold of a manual camera.

cheers

kalmis's picture

kalmis said Gypsy Gal ...

Hi Gypsy. Sorry i overlooked your question. Most manual cameras have the option to choose Sepia (which is the tint type you are referring to). To be honest, you are better off taking a full color photo and if you wish to make it a Sepia or a Black & White afterwards, do so with a photo software. My reasoning for this is that this way you would always have the color photo if you need it.

Arona's picture

Arona said hi, ...

I like it. It is my first view when I arrived in Doha and also my first office is located very near it. I could see it when I entered or left my office.
So it is best familiar building in Qatar.
