QL Gatherings? The Purpose
From the first time the concept of the groups were introduced here on QL and a lot of events and gatherings were held by different group's members and managers. Some of those events were only exclusive to the members of those groups while the others were just a combination of those groups or let's say were a general QL members gathering. The three most active groups so far in organizing such events and activities were the:
1- 'Filipino expatriates Group' [Manager - Azilana7037].
2- 'Social Group' [Manager - Xena].
3- 'Qatar Living Photography Group' [Manager - the truth 321].
I would like to say congratulations to both the managers for the success that both of the groups got so far, for the popularity of those three groups [100+ members so far for two of them] and for the hard work and efforts to improve and update the group for the best of the group members. I would like to list here some of the events held by those three groups and other QL members so far. I won't be able to call back all of them, but I will try me best and will list them in general:
- First Bowling Event [City Center] – Azilana7037.
- Second Bowling Event [City Center] – Xena.
- Ladies Night Out [Different Places] – Xena.
- Filipino Group Daylight – Azilana7037.
- First Filipino Group Gathering [Rass Nasaa] – Azilana7037.
- Dhow Trip [Corniche] – Xena.
- Orion Night [Ramada Hotel] – Scarlett.
- Movies Marathon Madness M3 [Indoor Event] – Azilana7037.
- Doha Collage Sports Activities [Badminton & Football] - Azilana7037.
- Fishing Trips [Umm Bab, Al Khour and Al Wakrah,] - [Kelly, DaRuDe & King].
- Rydges & Ramadah Nights Gatherings [Different QL Members].
- Jogging on Corniche [Treysdad].
- Movies Night [City Center] - [Irrysa & R7].
- Coffee Shops Gatherings [Xena & Different QL Members].
- Photoshoot 1 at Khalifa Stadium [the truth 321].
- Photoshoot 2 at Corniche [Bridge].
- Photoshoot 3 at Souq Waqif [LotusGem].
As everyone can see here those were most of the QL gatherings, events and activities so far. I have tried my best to list them all here for a purpose, I want the opinion of every QL member about those events. What we can make a weekly activity, what can we have once every two weeks and what can we go for once in a month.
Those activities are not the end of the list that we can always update; it is just a list of events that we can always improve, add more to and work on the same time on finding a way to make those more organized and a regular habit to bring the people on this community together and maintain strong relationships between the QL members. We don't want to lose or miss the goal and the basic purpose of those meetings, do we?
I want to hear from you, all of you what do you think about those events. What more should we add? What should we forget about? How can we improve the quality of those gatherings to have fun as much as we can and accomplish the mission behind having those gatherings.

King Ed ...Just an idea. Xena can appoint a drinking freak to organise drinking nights once a week or a fortnight at different pubs (not that we have endless options)and a coffee addict for coffee afternoons. Just to unload her from some work :)
Btw the Greek, Cypriots and friends group had a night in Habanos last Tuesday. Although a small group, 9 members turned up and it was a really nice gathering and an interesting first get together.
May the roof above us never fall in, and may the friends below never fall out!

Every Second Weekend of the Month Orion (which ever you like)
Every Third Friday of Month Fishing
Every Fourth Weekend of Month Cinema
Rest the ladies may have their coffee outing any day they like.
So Far with whom ever i meet was way much pleased with them.
And still for few a mystry.

I have been to almost all the QL gatherings and they have been great so far... Keeping in touch on a regular basis would be cool !!!

I like it DaRuDe but I hope ...I like it DaRuDe but I hope it will not be a whole year round! Errr DaRude can ladies join your fishing sojourn? So when is the 'crab' catching then?
R7 i do love to be counted in whenever you & the group plans for a nice movie stints.
Question: who will take the lead for tour around Qatar's heritage, historical sites and museums? its been my dream to visits their libraries, schools and perhaps mosques?

Well Every One Can Join ...No restriction. any one can join the fishin trip this time i am thinking of zakreet but first i have to find a find a fishing spot there i have visited the place already very clean beach and hills its just that place where oryx and ostrich are.so called national reserve place.

I love all the activities(and people!!) and will be joining in more of them when I return. I missed bowling night...sigh...I bowl horribly but have so much fun doing that...always good for a laugh..
I'm with some on the local activities..just have to figure out what there is to do there. I'm willing to help whomever wants to set up something.
I have an idea for when it gets a bit cooler...how about doing the dunes in the land cruisers? I went with my sons back in March on a business scheduled trip and it was FUN but had to be rather sedate and slow as we had several older folks with us who didn't like speed and flying over the top...darn it...Anyone with any connections with those folks?
Or..camel trip? I know..I'm such a tourist!!!

spoon/bucket race (which team can fill up small bucket with spoons of water)
tug of war...these can get endless...lol
