IKEA is under-construction ...Building for IKEA is under-construction and will be part of the Doha Festival City. It is exactly 6Km North of the Landmark Mall on the Shamal Road right after the first intersection on the North bound highway. The anticipated opening date is 14th December 2012, whereas the remaining Festival City is anticipated to be open to public by 2014.

FYI: The ground breaking for ...FYI: The ground breaking for IKEA Doha occurred in October 2011 and the 32,000+ sq m store is due for completion in Q4 2012. The remaining elements of Doha Festival City are due for completion by Q4 2014.

I also imagine, like every where else here, the car park will be far too small.

IKEA is alreadty doing business in Qatar ...prices are great but the delivery time is not definite as no stocks in Qatar yet...ordered from the nearest branch (Dubai or Bahrain) so it'll be 10-14 days or more.

Fact? ...Have you personally been there shopping in DOHA?
I was told by a member of Al-Futtaim who is developing Doha Festival City, and he stated " we are still in the process of hiring staff, and will open to the public in Nov. end of quarter 2012." hummmmmm ????
I am looking forward to it opening, but I would not go for alteast 6 months after so the staff has had time to be trained and deal with errors that happen whenever a new store etc opens. Get the bugs out of the system etc..
I remember being part of several businesses having to work the opening of new business, we would open in a soft opening for 3 months, then announce to the Public a "GRAND" opening in the 4th month, to be sure everything is going smoothly.

I'm currently dealing with IKEA for some office furniture ...my only hesitancy is that I can only see the actual product after purchase/delivery...not good :(
