Hi,
I have been offered a job in school in the mamoura area. I will be bringing my husband with me, due to this the school is offering me 500 us dollars to look for my own accommodation.
Can anyone suggest any flats/villas/compounds etc near the mamoura area. I am happy to travel to school as long as its not going to take me half an hour everyday!
I am looking to spend about 400 riyals? but i dont know if that is feasible.
Any suggestions, advice or guidance will be much appreciated.

check the classifieds ...maybe you'll find a room in that budget bracket.
But to be honest if that is your money for accommodation is going to be hard to find something.

OK, I think that's the least ...OK, I think that's the least amount of housing allowance I have ever heard of for a teacher from the UK. Are you making over 10,000 QR/mo? Will the school give you permission to sponsor your husband?

No no and no way ...check the classifieds and see what you can get for this amount-- Nothing. You need to do your homework on what they are offering you. If the salary is anything like the accomodation allowance, you will find life here hard.

500 usd????dear is not ...500 usd????dear is not enough.......think about it.....work and settle yourself first before thinking of bringing your husband immedietly....

500 USD is equivalent to QR ...500 USD is equivalent to QR 1825 which is barely enough to pay for a room.

if you mention the name of ...if you mention the name of the school; there can be more better & explicit opinions about the school's reputation towards its teachers.

Was it Cambridge school? My ...Was it Cambridge school? My wife had an offer from them last week with the choice of either shared accommodation of 500USD per month for accommodation.
Needles to say she turned it down pretty quickly. Especially after hearing bad things about the school from a number of people.
