Avoid Al Raya ...Avoid Al Raya.
Also avoid ones which have old model cars.
Remember there is a "waiting list" of around 2 months to get a date.

All driving schools are there to teach,.... ...so it depends on your ability to learn and apply what you learn. Also choose the one nearest your place.
And BTW, it's very expensive, so you need to really learn and pass the driving tests. It's easy if you follow strictly your instructor but hard if you depend on your "own" ability (if you are not a new driver).

Universal Driving School ...it's near Thursday and Friday souq.
if you have influence, ask for the driving instructor named Hamza, he has a very good teaching style, and all his students are known to pass their driving test.
i know i passed my first road test.
good luck.

om Maui, I took a five-day refresher practice there,... ...(not a course since I only paid the instructor and not the school) and passed the driving test in one try.
My wife enrolled in the half-course at Al-Rayah and passed her driving test in one try also. Now it's my daughter taking a full course at Al-Rayah as she is a new driver.
As I said, we just followed exactly what the instructor told us. After passing the exam, we can now enjoy our freedom to use our "own" abilities to drive.

Gulf Diving School ...Well I am going on Wednesday or Thursday to register at the Gulf Driving shcool and honestly I chose it for two reasons only:
1. Near my house
2. They have a bus for pick-up and drop-off
So i dont have to worry about getting there and it costs 2,500

How is it? ...faith_zan,
Tell me plz about your driving lessons, do you like the way of teaching there?
What their timing?
The price for other courses (like 12 hours or 25hours)?
Thank you in advance for help.

Al Rayah Driving School ...I got my license there & i have passed the test in 1 try only. i took 25 days course & in just 15 days of trainings i got my license. I owe it to my instructor bcoz he teach me very well, from giving lectures to road trainings & gave me so many tips especially in pocket parking. If ever your intrested to take driving lessons in al-rayah just ask for Mr.Tika, he is my instructor before he can speak english very well & helpful in so many ways. Thanks a lot Mr. Tika!

i posted the question..... and today, i have license ! ...guys, thanks for you replies...
i admitted to gulf driving, for 40 clasees only because its near to my place.
i failed 3 exams and passed in the 4th exam... the instructors in gulf school are basically very cunning and cheaters.... they wont teach unless you pay them ...
in the office, they always give waiting list of 3 months ! and when i paid my 'chosen' instructor QR 350, he managed to give bring down it to 2 weeks !
however, i heard from my other freinds, that khebra and al raya are better and i think so as well....
dont come to gulf unless you dont have any other choice...
best of luck guys....

I joined Karwa for 30 days ...I joined Karwa for 30 days course and spent QAR 2,850 for training on Automatic car. I had the worst experience ever. Karwa had only 3 or 4 Automatic cars for training and I had to wait everytime for the previous trainee to return the car. Most of my lessons where on the road and very few classes for parking due to non availability of the car needed for pocket parking. As a result I failed at the first attempt for pocket parking. Though I passed in the second attempt, I am still not confident at reversing the car from a parking slot. Karwa has only big name.

I live near a driving school - it's unbelievable what the instructors do when driving alone, feel sorry for anyone learning from them!

I took full course from Gulf ...I took full course from Gulf Driving School, the facilities just okay. I am 100% new driver, tried hard to observe as much as I can about this driving things.
Pass the parking and road test on the 1st test after 25 classes.
But the reality? I need 1000 more hours to improve my driving skills since I totally have no clue about the rules for driving in the doha traffics.

gulf driving school worst expirience... ...i joined Gulf driving school.i have already my professional driving license in the Philippines so I tried direct test only and i failed in road test only..i passed the sign test and L and inclined parking but i don't know to the police why i failed the road test..i do all the procedure like adjusting the chair, the(right, left and backside)mirrors,i wear seatbelt, and the police told me to go so i turn off the hazard, and i turn on the right signal.and then the police told me turn right so i turn on the right signal and i turn right...after that the police told me again turn left so i turn the left signal and i turn left and then he told to stop so i checked all the mirrrors then i stopped and i turn right, turn the gear to neutral and handbreak.then turn on the hazard..if you think of it you will pass..but you ask the police why you failed?he didn't talk at all.he just say turn right, turn left and stop..and while i'm waiting for the result and they told me i'm failed..i'm so disappointed, and sad, deppressed that time.

Well if you already have ...Well if you already have been driving in similar conditions, i.e keep right side on the road and left-hand vehicles and are used to the driving conditions over here like the round-abouts and signals ( oh yeah not to mention the round-abouts with signals !!! ), then go ahead buy the license.
On the other hand if your not used to these conditions, at the very least take a 3 day ( not sure if 3 is the minimum or 7) course.

i know that already..because ...i know that already..because everyday i'm with my cousin he teach me also when he is driving..he told me also the do's and don't's in the road...i bought also a book in guf driving school regarding the proper way in driving here in Qatar...i saw also the rules and regulations here in qatar in terms of driving in the Qatar website.the car here is same in also Philippines left handed.the minimum days is 12 days lesson already.what do you think?a lot of people also buying license here?or me only?lol..by the way thanks for the reply...
deepb said
12 days minimum would be if ...12 days minimum would be if you don't have a license back in your own country. I know of people who have taken licenses by just paying like you said. It's really up to you in the end. If its something urgent and your sure you can drive properly go for it. If you can take your time and go for the lesson's it might be harder but you would feel like you have actually earned it.

i want go to school if i ...i want go to school if i failed this second direct test because i want to get that license because i passed that test not i passed because i paid it. but it takes time to wait for your schedule. i need the license already. but if i will pay that license they will issue me the same license?not fake?there's no problem in the future?

oops didn't check this ...oops didn't check this thread. Yes, these license's are not fake. You will get the same one as any other person. It will be issued from the Traffic Department itself.
