Its not about Islam :) ...Assalamualikum Ikram,
Just to remove the confusion, its not about Islam and the status of Friday that this person is talking about. He is just trying to say that he isn't having much friends or known ones in qatar to share his time with. Had it been a tuesday weekly off in Qatar (for instance), he would have told the same about tuesday and not friday.
Dear Raghuraj, I suggest you some:
-make good books your friend, it can be with you anytime and will also benefit you. You will never regret about it anytime, the time you spent with it.
-call your relatives and friends back in your country, they will feel happy. Just 2 minutes each is also good. They will remember you and like you... just say hight atleast a week or fortnightly.
-Look for good friends around who will benefit you in a good way.
-If you like, go to hamad hospitals and meet the lonely sick people there, they become very happy when someone just comes to meet them. Especailly if they are alone and labour like. You will also feel happy and thankful for you health, the importance of life and health will be experienced.
-Visit labour camps and see if you can teach/help them somehow, either by filling in some forms/teaching some english/computer etc.
-I hope those will benefit you enough inshaAllah.
