New Qatar World Record
Indian expatriate Ashraf Biglove set a new Guiness World Record for the most number of car accidents caused in a 2 minute period.
While approaching TV round-about in the middle lane, Ashraf notice that there was one less car in the outside lane so jumped unexpectedly causes the vehicle behind to stop suddenly and the one behind that to hit him from behind. Once on the round-about he proceeded to circle twice in the outside land causing motorists wishing to exit the round-about to take evasive action, which lead to another 14 accidents. Once off the round-about, Mr Biglove preceeding to indicate left while moving right causing two more care to crash. He then went straight through a red light because he was looking at a copy of Tendulkar Monthly causes 6 cars to pile up to avoid his pick up. My Biglove drove off waving his hands and shaking his head furiously from side to side but did not stop.
When the Guiness Book of Records caught up with him for this amazing feet, he was bemused that he did anything wrong. 'when I got to the round-about I saw my lane had one extra car, so I needed to save 2.3 seconds on my journey so I switched. Then I wanted to turn left but forgot my turning so I went round again, isn't that what you are supposed to do? I tried to stay in the outside lane out of everyone's way and several people hit the horn to compliment my politness. As for the rest I did not see it, I wanted to turn right but all the controls are confusing and at first I turn on the windscreen wipers, then the hazard lights and eventually I found the control that turned on the side car decorations.'
When presenting the award we asked for a copy of his ID and Driving Licence so we could get the spelling of his name right but apparently he had neither as he had come on a free visa 25 years ago.

On the empty TV r/a to Oryx r/a road after the speed cam, he was on the fast lane smooching his young girl friend. Some 50 yards behind I could slow down and be alert to avoid the Jeep which was swinging from the fast track all the way to the service lane when the old fart luckily opened his eyes and saved his car from hitting the tree.
I was expecting to pull out the grandpa from the crash with a piece of her tongue in his mouth!!!!

we are in the era of the "smart idiot" or "SI" as I have been calling them for some time now..
I know it's not their fault, they are the ones that don't know they are "idiots"..they are too smart to realize they are idiots..
But certainly those who drive around them, know for sure they fit the "SI" critiera.

u-turns ...lol fubar i mostly agree about the turns from the right lanes..but buddy i have to admit i do the u-turn too sometimes..only because of the absolute slowness and maddening laziness with which other drivers go about making the damn u-turn from the left lane..i swear some people could make 3 u-turns in the time it take some other people to make one..the simple reality is the slow careful drivers are annoyed by the faster ones and vice versa..also being fast doesn't imply recklessness..some people just are that little bit more skilled behind the wheel..it's the difference between being able to judge and park within centimetres of another car and stopping 6 feet earlier because you think you're going to touch..there's just too much diversity on Qatar's roads and the best we can do is try and get along and hope for the best.
