Jst me or hard for RP female 2 find a JOB

lizylulu's picture
Posted in:

Exceptionally good with my English, enthusiastic about working asap and yes I do understand Arabic to a good extent (I am still learning everyday)... so WHY is it that I have not been able to land myself on a Job yet.. It is true I have only been searching online, but duhh, what else do I do, don't have any inside links or somebody to push my CV through.. You see we (me and my Hus)are new to the country...

I totally agree, my experience and expertise showcase me as less qualified , but doesn't my flair for quickly learning new things, being sociable and gregarious, responsible, reliable and hardworking characteristics count????...

And my other question where am I supposed to be searching? help me search and dig in the right place...

Until we meet again, Adios!!!!!

Well I would stop boasting about your exceptional English for a start as what you have written says otherwise....

Here are the hard facts. Indian ladies on husband's RP are virtually banned from working in certain sectors in Qatar so that limits your options.

Your only option, (unless you know someone) is to just keep appyling for jobs and one day you will get lucky.

Anyone can apply online from anywhere in the world. If you are physically present at the place you want to work, why don't you start going yourself to drop your CV? Try to meet the institutions' staff or head, and ask for any assistance you require. That way, whatever skills and charm you possess will be apparent with more impact than any details in a CV.

It is not the language that is important but what are the skills that you can offer.

Further to that, it also depends on the position that you are applying for. Qatar is not a cornucopia of jobs that you can just get one as soon as you arrive.

Have a little patience and keep on applying. Sooner or later you'll find a job....

Qatar isn't so keen on hiring from the internet. That I learned a couple of years ago.

They prefer the face-to-face approach unless you entered the country through an agency, which would've hired you after a face-to-face interview. I would do some research on good agencies here and figure out what kind of work you can do with the visa you currently hold. Qatar is big on keeping everything legal, if your visa will not allow you to work, you will not work unless you get that visa changed.

For us ladies, the visa processes are a little longer so be patient.

Good luck!

Lizylulu, don't get upset, definitely you will get a job. check inbox

personally from my experience, it is better to do walk-in application rather than searching online.... i have spent almost a month doing applications and sending cv online, checking gulftimes.com, and have not received any positive feedback from them, and then after a month doing those, i decided to explore outside.... in just a few days, i landed a job...

good luck...

Mind you, I've been interviewing fellow female kabayans and though they have great communication skills, and the work experiences are excellent..they miss one important aspect...ATTITUDE.

As they say, "familiarity brings contempt".

I'm not being snotty, but whenever Filipina applicants finds out that the interviewer is of same nationality, they switch to the KABAYAN MODE and speak Tagalog?!!!

That's a "duuuhhh" moment....

I represent the hiring company, You and I are in Qatar wherein the general communication language is ENGLISH.

I am not your friend...so being the same nationality wont give you the edge of being short-listed.

Dint want to sound boastful?? but sorry if I did..

And y feel so edgy towards other nationalities, I've heard we work harder than the locals here and get paid way too less... so Isn't that double standard??? That's that, banned in certain sectors u say, not all huh :) so i'll try my luck there...

But thanks for your opinion, will keep that in mind and try harder...And of course gear myself up for a lot of rejections too...

Like I said no inside connection for me yet, but what say some1 mite vouch for me someday...

Cheers,,,

At the end of the day do not worry what the locals get paid, its their country and their money so they can spend as they like, so no I do not see a double standard.

I wish you luck in your search but I am just stating how it is. Don't want you to be disullioned, its not you its your sex and nationality that counts against you.

Think about it this way. Do qataris have the right to work in India? So they get the benefits of being in THEIR country, not you as an opportunist.

so why should you expect to get a job here, especially after you call the locals lazy.

lizylulu's picture

lizylulu said halloooo, a qualified person ...

halloooo, a qualified person would get a job anywhere in the world and why not in India, but we would not pay an equally skilled Indian more and an outsider less.. That just doesn't happen in India. Face it, its a well debated fact that qataris don't bother to come to office on time and most of their work are done by others and when it comes to remuneration, olaa. So who is the opportunist here???

Dont judge a book by its cover gal..According to you Indians are hired less because they are Indian, duhh,,,,,you dint have any better reason to put us off???? What do I say Wake up and look around you!!!!! As far as being a woman is concerned, this is not Saudi is it?? You sound like one of those extremists, totally against women working. High time the likes of you changed this barbaric attitude towards other nationals and women.

mozaismyhero said Well sister its not me. ...

Well sister its not me. Indian females on husbands sponsorship do not get CID approval to work in the Oil & Gas Companies, so I was just stating the facts.

Also Indians in general are hired less because they are Indian. Getting Indian visas is more difficult for companies not just in Qatar but the whole GCC as they want to control the number of Indians as they believe they have too many.

I would have thought being a clever Indian you would know that.
