Indians more free than Filipinos?

Have travelled with ease to several countries in the world, and the only question I get asked is the purpose of the travel..

No harassment ever

This must be horrible news for flor!

In India, we have 2 categories of Passports:

1. ECNR (Educated People)
2. ECR

If somebody has ECNR Passport he only needs to have visa of the destined company and thats it.....

People with ECR (Laborer category) have to get prior approval from Emigration Department of India.....

But it is much easier than Filipine..POEA.....

Having said that it's the same-same, but different!

kutrya why we have to recharge hala card if we wish to travel to india.....? is it required for philipinoes..?

And ironically when we all reach Qatar - Indians, Filipinos, Americans, we all need a visa to leave the country and go home.

MN - I don't know where your knowledge of everything comes from, but as far as I am concerned you don't have to grease anyone's palms if you have all the documents in place

But in order to have all documents in place you need to wax someone's????

in our company, there are more Filipinos in higher positions than Indians... indians are all laborers/drivers, tea boy, etc.
my apology to some respected indians here...
but i've been reading a lot of bashing to Filipinos and unfortunately Flor is not here to defend them.

Corruption/bribery exists all over the world. It just happened that India has it really bad. Your denial = compliance..

To the OP, unless you are a fugitive with the cops looking for you, you don't need anything else apart from a valid passport & visa to leave India.

Instead of burying one's head in the sands. People should take this as an opportunity to brainstorm ideas on how to stamp out corruption in India rather then passing the buck.

Technically what we Pinoys need is just our passport and a visa to go anywhere...and our right to travel is enshrined in our constitution.

so MN how much bribe did you pay? or were you trying to sneak in something without declaring at the customs?

Some/most of us always go for the easy way which is paying bribes instead for standing up and fight.

Moza, your post is about "freedom" to travel and not about freedom of movement per se, although the right to travel is a part of it. To use the this as basis of comparison in relation to the freedom of Indians and Filipinos is not fair and just creates conflict between our nationalities (which is probably your intention?).

Admittedly, there's a lot of corruption going on in the Philippines but I'm sure most backyards have their share too:)
