Car registration renewal
Probably everyone knew this (except me) but there is a Ministry of the Interior kiosk in City Center, one floor down from Carrefour, that does car registration renewals. We had ours done in, no kidding, less than five minutes! Considering the time and effort it took to get the vehicle insurance renewed, this was a miracle.

Hi Mandi, is your car less ...Hi Mandi, is your car less than 3 years old? coz if your car is more than 3 years old, you would have to get your vehicle inspected before you can do all the easy stuff, and the inspection part is where it can get messy.

For a hundred rials,... ...you don't need to line-up for the insurance renewal, registration renewal. If the vehicle is cleared at inspection, you can leave your papers at one of the porta cabins at Madinah Khalifa, and just go back on agreed time, presto, you have your new registration!

Vegas ...Yes you can pay someone to do it for you. We always hire someone to go to the Industrial Area, do the inspection and then take the car and get it registered. I think it's worth it not to go through the hassle. I avoid the industrial are at all costs!!!

Well, the technique there in industrial area,... ...is to go there between 1~3 pm, not much volume of vehicles being inspected. You're out within 30 minutes.

I use AAA, a ...I use AAA, a breakdown/recovery compnay which covers all the GCC. They take care of my Insurance, inspection and renewal as part of the package. They aslo offer alot more but thats for another post.

Just noticed this evening that there's an MoI kiosk at the Mall - any idea if they do it there as well? Either way, good news!

They do.. ...They do take car for services.. search for AAA you may find their ad in QL.. i have seen it once..
