Is this legal???
We've just had a man going around our compound in a KSA registered car asking for money for an orphanage!!!!Spouted that it was Ramadan etc etc Stragely enough he said he would accept any currency......I said I had no money.....He also asked what the nationality of the next door neighbour was!! Not sure I'm exactly comfortable with this!!!!

From what I know, it is ...From what I know, it is illegal. Happens a lot during Ramadan though. You can find them at parking spaces in front of shopping centers, restaurants etc. You might also encounter people with IV drops,seeping wounds, and urine bags...it's all fake. Just walk away.

It happened to me twice but not in Ramdan ...Once near Doha Clinic and once near Jarir bookstore..The strange thing is that both were with Saudi registered cars and with their wives (or gfs) setting beside them and totally covered (I mean covering the face too). Both were claiming that they lost their way and they need money for petrol.

There are plenty of registered official charities in Qatar that do great work for those in need. Better to donate to them rather than anyone else.
