Thank you. I am getting a ...Thank you. I am getting a housing allowance of QAR 8400 is this ok to get a modern two bedroom flat with seaview. I heard accomodation in Doha is expensive. How does the prices of cars compare to in RSA. What would an installment on a Hummer3 be.
Viva RSA for winning the rugby worldcup... Once I get my visa I should be in Doha first week of Decemeber.

you are looking at bout R5 000 for an installment on the car of your dreams.... but the bright side... you only pay R1.60 for a litre of gas to fill it up.....

HAHAHA.. I am a bigboy and ...HAHAHA.. I am a bigboy and want a groot meneer. I drove hummer and it is great...tell me what is the accomodation like in Doha....I would like to stay close to the sea...Is QAR 8400 enough. R5000 is not to bad for a hummer with all the perks there it is ok.

Accomodation is crazy.... ...you might be able to manage on that allowance...but I am not hopeful....
Your other option is to hire 4 or 5 bedroomed villa and find some housemates.... that also comes in handy in meeting people and making friends..... many people feel alone here...

how long have you been ...how long have you been working in qatar and do you also work for Qatar Petroleum....Is there a specific site I can check out the prices of housing and cars. I just want to compare and do my own analysis.

Actually... there are quite a few ...South africans running around Doha.... you just have to know where to find them... personally, and I don't mean this in a bad way..but if I wanted to hang around with South Africans, I would go home...
Doha is a multi-cultural city and thats one of my reasons for being here...you will find tons of different nationalities and cultures all in one country... its awesome....
Unfortunately, when I was looking for cars I didn't find any sites available to give me any info.... and if you are buying new cars, you won't have to drive around much, as car dealers are limited. You get all the major ones and some of those you have never heard of... but car prices are competitive....
You can pick up a new Isuzu double cab for about QAR55 000....
Accomodation is supplied through my company, so I haven't hard to find any as yet...
