Visiting Qatar - need visa?

Hi,
I have family in qatar, I hold an Irish passport. I know i can enter qatar by just paying 55QR at the airport. However, this is regarding my girlfriend, who holds a Canadian passport and has never been to qatar. she has no family in qatar. Can she just come into qatar? she will be staying with me?
or does she need a sponsor to just visit qatar for two weeks?

No problem for her... ...No problem for Canadians.. Just show up and pay the 50QR at immigration for a tourist visa (3 wks, 4 with extension)... I might recommend going through immigration separatly, you never know who might be difficult since you are not married. But, it should not be a problem if they ask who she is visiting and she tells them "friends" and mentions your family.

Visiting Qatar ...As per my knowledge US, Canada, Europeans passport holders get on arrival visa in Doha, Qatar Airport. Pls. visit www.moi.gov.qa for further clarifications.
