Markhia Health Clinic - Customer Service
I just want to share my bad experience at Markhia/Madinat Khalifa Health Clinic.
I was not well with bad cough and congestion and visited this place as it is near my house(Feerej Kulaib). I informed that I have family and working here and also showed my ID card(coz I don't have a Medical card).
The person at reception was sooooo rude that she didn't even care to look at my ID card and said "you no here".
I asked one doctor who was standing outside and he said I can show myself to a doctor without medical card by paying 30 Riyal. But again the lady at reception was not at all co-operative. I had to leave that place because of bad(regular) customer service.

Persons like me who are born in Qatar (1980) have continuously complained of such acts by Qatari nationals especially at GOVT offices but haaaaaaaaaaa NOTHING AT ALL
.
So,just do prayers b4 leaving ur house/office whenever u have to go to any GOVT office

. ...No doubt, HEALTH CARD is necessary but if ur INSURANCE CARD covers HMC 100%, then it is also very fine but still to make their mouth shut, do spend few riyals and get HEALTH CARD coz they are also not able to SPEAK/HEAR ENGLISH too.

you really don't need a ...you really don't need a healthcard to be seen in a PHC or any of the hamad hospitals here, you'll just have to pay a certain amount at the cashier before being seen by a doctor, and sorry to hear about what happened to you in that health center.

Just to explain the "you no here" ...Because I also live in Fereej Kulaib and I thought why not go to Madinat Khalifa HC which is the nearest one. But I was wrong.
"You no here" means "This is not your Primary Health Center (PHC)." Fereej Kulaib and Bin Omran are under the WEST BAY HEALTH CENTER. This is our PHC. They will not entertain you in Madinat Khalifa unless it is Friday or Saturday (since West Bay is closed on those days).
It is located in front of Al Meera in West Bay (where Ponderosa is). You have to go there.
If you do not have a health card, you have to go to the "walk-in clinic". No idea where it is though. :(
It is all miscommunication because of lack of English skills. No need to get upset just ask the right persons. I asked my Filipino compatriots what was it all about and they gladly explained to me about the PHC and pointed me to the right PHC.
I suggest try getting a Health Card next time (also in West Bay HC with your Kahramaa receipt).

I ask her what she saying she just help the next person at the window. Then I when to some room and ask the male nurse he told me that my clinik is in garafha by the stadium he even draw me amap of how to get there. I think thoes woman are just did not speak english and no customer service training. Just remember that Qatar are basickly new to all this. We the non Arab speaking some time miss understood.
