Don't buy LG A/C and Fridges
Please don't buy LG products, especialy A/c and Fridge
1. Compressor is Rotary type (ugly noise)
2. Not durable (only one year can use it)
3. Elevated plastic cover (with filter and louver) clip is not strong enough.
4. Services is not good. (very bad bad bad bad bad)
I have an experince with the dealer (doha)(I bought 2nos 2Ton window A/C and a Fridge).
Please QL listeners don't buy LG products.
(QL Listeners need more details, I can attach damaged A/C's photos and more)

Their A/C does a fantastic cooling along with their fridges too.

If you have bought those products from other shopkeeper then it might be faulty but if u buy it directly from LG official dealers VIDEO HOME ELECTRONICS, you will not be disappointed.

I bought 3 window 1.5 ton ...I bought 3 window 1.5 ton a/c's last year. One of it having problem since last summer with temp control. Very erratic. Some times it works and few times not. Seems to be a problem with their control.

honestly, I don't like this kind ...of posting. Brand bashing, products dissatisfaction, etc. I'm sure there are customer service centers or after sales for these products, if you're not satisfied, why don't you go and complain or ask for refund? My laptop feels insulted:(

My QR3000 LG 2-ton Split-Unit ACs are much better than my QR6200 Trane 2-ton Split-Unit ACs... at least for now.

Rotary type compressors are less less noisy than the other types
Hermatic compressors which uses cylinder and crank case and shaft are to much noisy
i am not sure if LG uses Rotary Comp`s but if it really do that means it is much better than others

Fishermanalex - I disagree. ...Fishermanalex - I disagree. Rotary compressor = less noise is a myth, atleast with LG A/C's. Also, the cooling efficiency is lower than piston type compressors. Although, power consumption might be a bit lower, can't say for certain.
I'm running 5 piston type General A/C's and 1 new LG rotary at home. The LG, although having a lower level of noise, it is much more irritating (rattling noise). I thought it was a defective unit, but the the LG tech told me that all of them sounded alike.
Also, it does not cool as quickly as the Generals (long cycle times, room size and other parameters remaining constant).

Neither I am an LG fan, I like GENERAL AC...the coooling,, vowwww......no one can match

Maybe you have had a bad experience due to some reason or the other due to which you are labelling LG products as bad, to satisfy your personal vendetta against LG.
However, let me share with you that I am a satisfied user of LG fridge here in Doha (1 & 1/2 years & still going strong) & back home (8 years & still going strong), I have absolutely no problems with them.
Please check the facts before you spread false rumours to the readers of QL.

sorry babu... ...But I've used an LG Television, an LG refrigerator, four LG washing machines, two LG air conditioners in ten years in different parts of the world...and I should say I have nothing to complain about...they were the best value for money...the service guys back home tried to take me for a ride when I needed to get a little service for one of the older washing machines...but other than that it has been pretty smooth sailing...the tele and fridge are now 6 years old and still running strong as the day we bought them...but yes they don't last like the old General and National MADE IN JAPAN air cons...those guys could beat the $h!+ out of the energizer bunny too...:)...got a National 20 years old (at least) but still cools the room to Igloo levels...in no time

LG Best AC ...I am using almost 5 Window AC's and 7 Split AC's in my villa and workshop since 2008.
But masha allah, it is amazing...uptonow, i have no problem in anything.
Mr.Babukutty,I think, the noise from rotary compressor are normal.
and one more important thing, the other brands like hitachi, gibson they are using LG compressors.
and packing method, lookwise also LG is good.
I am really confused with Mr.Babukutty comment.

Don't buy LG products especially the A/C. We bought a brand new LG split type and window type A/C at the same time and guess what almost the same period, like after 2 or 3 months both A/C's has a major problem. You can swin inside our room because of the water leakeage and because it is still under warranty, we called the customer service w/c took 1 wk for them to come and fix the A/C. After fixing it, again after 1 month, another issue arises. Now the AC itself is freezing, I mean the there is a huge ICE inside the AC w/c hinders it to function properly. Same story... called the customer service, after a week ,they will fix. Tiring. Now, the warranty is over and now our AC still facing a problem. So we have to purchase a new one just to get rid the headache...
