Right, driving lessons question!
I've been lurking around the QL Forum for months and I finally signed up!
I have never driven before (I'm a city girl who's used to buses and trains) and I'm finding it so hard since we moved here. I've done a search on QL re: driving schools but seeing the different opinions is confusing me.
So here are my questions and I'd appreciate honest, been-there-done-that answers!
1) Living in West Bay, which is the nearest good driving school?
2) Can you recommend a motivated driving instructor who speaks good English? And can actually teach($64 million question, I know!)

hmmmmmm....there are so many ...hmmmmmm....there are so many driving skools but not a specific one near west bay..and no one can recommend you a good dedicated instructor...if you want lisence then simply go for it ...it is useless to look for a motivated driving instructor...

They will ask you if you have driving license in your home country or not. Say yes. But not bring it here.
The minimum is 25 hours course if you take auto gear car. It is more than enough for auto gear car.
If you want manual gear car, then 40 hours course.

Al Raya is worst.... ...Al Raya is worst....once in you will not get Licence before 6 mths guranteed.
Doha Driving School, Kheratiath.
But the driving teachers just teach the very basic. It would be a good idea to buy some "learn to drive" books to understand the "laws of driving" and in all kinds of weather.

I took driving lessons from ...I took driving lessons from Qatar Modern Driving School and found it to be the worst one ever. I recommend Khebra or Karwa Driving schools.
