How did you find QatarLiving.com ?
I was looking to adopt a dog and was browsing carelessly when suddenly found Xena's article about adopting dogs which she had posted on Qatar Living.
Later on I joined QL.
I really thank QL for all the nice people and friends I met here.

i found out about this site ...i found out about this site recently when i was looking for articles regarding qatari citizenship and am hooked. its great to see people helping their fellow people not caring if they know each other or not. i was hoping to find an online community for people in qatar and QL is great!

ohhh.,...found QL from hubby ...showing me where to look for things in the classified section..then, left to my own devices, stumbled into the forum...and the rest is history...I LOVE QL...even when we have tiffs and arguements...Ok.that can give me a headache..but its still like a family...oddballs and friends, alike...so a mighty thank you to everyone and especially to qatari and ahmed for this site..you've saved my sanity more than once since moving here...(but sometimes..my husband gets tired of me saying..ohh yeah, on QL today...) lol

Scarlett ...I was researching on the subject of Pole dancers and came across this site.
I found the pole dancers in Qatar, one week later and very living, one night in the Ramada hotel.
They had a live DJ contest in the Cube and they had brought some gorgeous female dancers from Dubai. I got the pictures to prove it and the set up in the floor..... Too bad no lap dance.....LOL

Over two years ago, there ...Over two years ago, there was some really fantastic event that happened in Doha
and I missed it. In fact, I didn't even know about it until sometime afterwards.
So I thought to myself, wouldn't it be rockin' if there was a website where friends could post the latest and greatest about life in Qatar
? That way, together, we'd unearth all the gems that life has to offer in Doha.
And thus, Qatar Living found.
The rest is history!

Googling ...I found QL through googling for such a site. I was active in the expatriates in Saudi Yahoo Group but couldn't find such a group here when I first came here. I was sad.
But then I stumbled upon QL and was overjoyed!

The first attempt to join in was a disaster. I posted a thread and NONE gave me a reply. I wasnt exactly thrilled. I gave up on it. Months passed and i decided to try again. So i gave my name in as Greeker and later added a green head as signature. Voila, i was in. And that was when i discovered that QL was a fun site.
Have been addicted since. I am yet to meet Qatari, but then well, i am in a long queu of people who would give their right hands to know who Qatari is. Well, i guess i will have to live with the suspense. But well, lemme tell you, the suspense is worth living every moment.
It has been a good journey so far. I met people i would never have met otherwise. I can count the blessings from QL on the fingers of both my arms, legs and still be left with more. Thanks QL. Thanks Q.
How i thank god for the day Q missed those events... Had it not been, well, i wouldnt be talking right here, right now, would i?

I found QatarLiving by ...I found QatarLiving by accident browsing in Google while I am still in my country almost two years ago long before I moved to Doha. Then Novita also informed me about this website and all click together. Very helpfull and resourcefull link for anything about Qatar/Doha and beyond.

Doha although a small place it is still very easy to miss some very big events.
Maybe because people work long hrs.
Maybe because of less advertisment.
But now with QL not one event, I repeat, Not one event shall be missed.
Not only will the events be informed, talked about and reported but they will also be photographed & uploded for all to enjoy.
I guess thats a pretty stupendous achivement for an Individual to do for his Country.

In November 2005 ...I returned to South Africa after the most amazing holiday in a country called Qatar.... before being invited here, I had never even heard of the place....
Anyway.... was so inlove with the country, that I was googling it to find out more... and what do you know.... I stumbled on this site.....
Yay, Qatari.... as I have said many times before....

How i joined QL? ...I was looking around for the oppurtinities and range of salaries of vb.net programmers .. when i found some westerners talking about offers ..
actually the funny thing is they were not concerned about the salary or the offer .. they were concerned if they can bring their dog along with them or not ...
for example i remember one lady was saying "I offered a job and the salary is around 26 Qatari riyals but i don't know shall i accept it or not .. am i able to bring my dog with me"
I was like we r dying here to find better jobs and good salaries and she is concerned about her dog "with all my respect to her dog"
so i signed up to be sarcastic with this lady .. lol .. yeah it's funny .. may be not but that is how i joined QL ...
after that i learned a lot of things .. specially from this website .. started to have friends and meet up with them ..
the most things i learned was:
1- The more i meet people the more i love my dog "May be that's why the lady was concerned about her dog"
2- Friendships "When u r falling may be ur friend won't be able to pull u up but at least he will try not to let u fall down"
This is friendship and thank god i have REAL GENUINE friends from QL
I learned how to love my life and satisfied with what god has gaved me
whenever there is downs there is always ups .. whenever there is sun there is always tomorrow .. whenever there is thirst there is always COCACOLA ... hahaha .. i love the commercial song of COCACOLA ...

Multicultural soup at QL = QL-tolerance ...It is quite amazing how QL people from all parts of the world can share opinions and chill together. People do come from different countries with a range of different governments and cultural expectations but learn to adapt. Of course there are hiccups when peoples' backgrounds or expectations clash (e.g., my over-the-top post in the illicit relationships thread, discussions about driving, what's appropriate to wear in Doha, what's racist and what's not, or what's important in a job). Nevertheless, I call this willingness to accept others' opinions "QL-tolerance".
If this QL-tolerance could be transferred to more workplaces, then Doha might be a happier place to live and work in.

How did I find qatarliving? ...I turned right at www.londontown.com, crossed www.visiteurope.com/... (with the help of www.worldatlas.com/w...) then navigated Turkey, Syria and Jordan through to www.arab.net/saudi, hung a left and took the internet road from there to www.qatarliving.com

Found this site when i ...Found this site when i googled Qatar....Thanks to Ahmed and Qatari for a truly helpful site to newcomers to Qatar. However when i found QL, i found the Queen of QL Novitta who is the most helpful, informative member on QL. No doubt there are many helpful members here but Novitta spends tireless amounts of time and effort in answering people pleas for help, which is a godsend fo people who know nothing about Qatar. She helped me heaps with many questions before i arrived here. THANK YOU NOVI......
