Ok been here a few months now, and have made some great friends, but for those that are'nt married with kids etc where the hell do you go??

Am also on the cusp of moving to Qatar, arriving mid-late July, and all this chat about "where is everyone/is everyone married" has got me a bit worried!!! Am a single 31 year old guy and looking to make the most out of my new life. Up for the usual, few drinks, few laughs etc.... Advice on how to settle in!?

Its not that bad! ...Its not that bad! Its just i kinda fancied meeting other single's! As like i said sometimes i get fed up of playing the 3rd person or having to do the whole family bbq etc! The nightlife is here if you want it and there are some really nice bars! I went out this weekend and had a really good time! i think i rolled in at 7am!

A partner you will find soon enough, it is more admirable if you manage to stay on your own 2 feet and not get dragged into the 'drinking' & 'party' life. Look at colleagues that have been here over 5 to 6 years, many of them (lady crew) I know have made wrong choices when it comes to men and are suffering now as they desire to find 'the right guy'.
Be yourself, take your time... all puzzle pieces will fall together eventually....
If you rush... you'll walk into a wall..... and the bounce, hurts like hell.
You may disregard this advice, or take it to heart. Your choice.

Hi all, arrived in Qatar 6 ...Hi all, arrived in Qatar 6 months ago on single status and the solitude is a big problem for me. The only people I've met are through work, are married and therefore don't really go out too much.

As for being single, yeah it's tough for guys but usually women end up getting around alright. Plus, you've got your veritable pick of the litter in terms of men so if one doesn't work out there's always another one waiting in the wings.
