PSD Meeting

Aw! ganun po ba? kaya pala tinawagan ako kahapon at may meeting daw. I hope di naman malaking problema yun.

dapat talaga umattend lahat ng parents ,iwan muna yang mga gawaing bahay at maraming oras para dyan.Ito na kasi pagkakataon para marinig ang side nila at magpaliwanagan ang mga admin at mga magulang.At sana rin lang yung mga aattend ay hindi uupo lang at pag magtatanong ang admin kung may mga katanungan or reklamo pa ay magsisitahimik lang .PagTapos ng meeting ay saka magsisispagreact at napansin ko rin kung sino pa ang mga di umattend sila pa yung maraming tanong at reklamo.

May ugali kasi ang mga Pinoy na pagharapan or meeting na ay mga tameme at aayon na lang tapos non saka magsasalitaan pag tapos na.

sabi sa meeting ang may pasok lang this Sunday NKP, Grades 123(elementary) at 4th year. So yung mga remaining level ay wala pang schedule ng pagpasok, kaya mga kids stayput muna kayo sa bahay
kainis...kung alam ko lang ay extended pa sana bakasyon namin sa pinas sarap pa naman pag tag ulan sa province

wawa naman yung ibang dp makapag start. for sure make up class yan. tuwa mga bata, ngawa mga magulang... hope maayos as soon as possible.

thank you po sa mga nagcomment specially kay nicaq25. request ko lng w/d permission from our admin at kung okey kay nicaq25 baka pwedi mo kami lagi i-update sa sitwasyon ng school kasi im sure gaya ko (although alam ko this is not a valid execuse kasi anak natin ang involve) may mga parents na di talaga maka-attend ng mga regular meetings sa psd lalo na kung short notice. okey lng po ba sa admin at kay nicaq25? tink u po, GB

promise ill do my best na makakuha ng tamang info regarding this. anyway nicaq25 is doing her duties as a parent in psd kaya ganoon din gawin natin we should have time to do our part as parent. pakiusap lang if di talaga reliable ang info huwag ng magpost. tandaan we have only 2 phil. school here in qatar so dapat pagtulungan natin itong maging maayos kung may mga problema, kasi di talaga maiwasan yan. iwasan na rin natin ang intriga, siraan (meron ba?) at pulitikahan dito (meron din ba?) dapat lagi natin tandaan na laging una dapat ang kapakanan ng ating mga anak. rest assured may magmamatyag na sa psd at kasama na si bisdak dun!

In regards to this intrigue that some people posted here about PSD, I urge you to please have time to visit them (PSD Administration)and laid down everything you need to know and be clarified. This forum is not a proper forum, more so that no solution for your complains.Unless otherwise, you have other agenda about the school?

mga kabayan, na mismo Pilipino ang bumabatikos sa sariling paaralan na dadalawa lang nga dito sa Qatar. Yung iba, di alam ang puno't dulo ng kwento bakit nagkaaberya ang pag-start ng pasukan, panay komentaryo, hindi na nga nakakatulong sa school, naninira pa. At isa pa, they never get involved in school events or activities, not even attended the meetings!
Kami, hindi naman katagalan sa PSD, 2 anak nagtapos ng high-school na dyan, may isa pang naiwan (Grade 6). According to the pioneers of this school, yung mga kababayan nating naunang nagpunta dito sa Qatar at nakapagtrabaho sa mga gas companies, Hamad at ibang government instittutions, sila ang nagsimula magtatag ng ewskelahang ito, na ang layunin ay makasama ang mga anak o pamilya nila habang andito sila. Dahil sila daw ay kakaunti lamang, they rented a porta cabin, requested some teachers from Philippines thru DECS. It was only from NKP up to Grade 6. Of course, the numbers of Filipino expatriates were growing. They needed more rooms, so another porta cabins were added, more teachers & staffs were hired for the services. Ang pambayad sa mga ito ay galing sa tuition fees ng mga parents na gustong magpa-enrol ng mga anak nila dun. Dahil sa parami ng parami daw ang parating na mga pinoy na nagdadala ng pamilya nila dito at yung mga naka graduate sa elementary ay ayaw pauwiin ng mga magulang sa Pinas, they decided again to set-up a High school department. Those times wala pa ang PISQ, now PSD is runing 17 years in operation here in DOha, serving the Filipino expatriates' children, our children. PISQ is only running 9 years as of this year. Ano kaya ang mangyari, if when those times, you tried to enrol your child and the PSD refused to accept your kid kasi wla na nga silang bakanteng upuan, etc? (kaya January pa lng, magpapareserba ka na).
Ngayon, sa layuning makatulong para e-accommodate ang 2,000+ children na mga anak ng Filipino expatriates dito, they upgraded their school and made it more presentable kasi nga, yung ibang parents, nagrereklamo na 'ganito daw ka laki bayad nila, porta cabin lang pala rooms ng anak nila?'. Beside, the old location (Al Sadd) of the school is not suitable for these numbers of students. And so they transferred to a new location (Madinat).
At common sense, the building construction will not commence unless you have permit. Ang laki ng construction na yan, alangang hindi mapansin yun ng baladiya di ba? So, during the meeting nga, nag-explain ang principal bakit nagkaaberya ang opening ng class. I have known some people helping the school facilitating some papers to make it more 'legal'. If you were not there during the meeting, and want to dig more the reasons behind, I suggest you have to meet them (principal/administrator/BOT), so that you get the facts straight from the concern people.

NOTE: The history of PSD, is being told again & again by some pioneers in BOT during the General PTA meetings.

you can share you own version of the PSD history if you want. If you don't mind, you can correct anyone of us not telling the truth here but at least can you point out some reliable source so that we might not be confused? And the pioneers were not my idols, in fact I don't know some of them personally. I just heard this story during the General meetings. If I forgot to mention the role of Phil. embassy here perhaps not deliberately.
Kung gusto mong mai-share ang totoong kwento ng PSD, go ahead as long as it is supported with facts, we don't mind. But don't just barge in with this word 'sinunggaling'. That's not fair, ako's isang parent lang na hindi naman member ng kung anong kataas-taasang organization sa PSD and I deserve to know too.

The embassy may not be popular with some kabayans, but let’s give credit where credit is due. PSD was put up and registered by embassy officials. They are the founders and pioneers. Anyone who claims otherwise is sinungaling. Need a source? Ask your 'pioneers'. Not all of them are hardcore liars.

for everyones info, some facts about PSD

- it was founded on Oct 1992 by the members of the Filipino community under the auspices of the Philippine Embassy.

- the Philippines DECS granted PSD permit to operate on 06 Mar 1997 per gov't permit no. 002 s.1997

- only on 01 Feb 2000, it was granted by DECS Gov't Recognition No. 001 s.2000.

- PSD is governed by Amiri Ordinance No. 7 of the year 1980 regarding organization of private schools in the State of Qatar. under the said ordinance, PSD was given permission by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education to operate as a private school of the Filipino Community in Qatar, under the "PATRONAGE" of the Philippines Embassy in Doha.
